Banana Wind Oceanfront Home ~ Private Beach, Snorkeling, Kayaks, Stunning Views

10/10 Excellent

"Another wonderful trip to Banana Wind cottage on Cat Island Bahamas! Stephanie is a great host. Communication is very straightforward and easy. Harrison the caretaker is wonderful! He is also a walking history book for the island. The Banana Wind back yard is literally the ocean. Beautiful reef and snorkeling right out back. Sunsets around the corner past Da Pink Chicken or if you care to take a drive, Rolle’s Beach has a beautiful and unspoiled beach and sunsets there are magical! Just feel like I should give the normal word of caution- This is the wild and wonderful out islands. This is not a resort. The stars are amazing, close encounters with wild sea turtles, mantas and fish are a reality. There are also mosquitoes, power outages and limited dining opportunities. Meals can be provided. Just ask Harrison. We enjoy fresh fish, lobster, homemade jerked chicken and local foods like Mary’s stuffed land crabs for our daily fare. Enjoy!!"

Cat's Cove, Pigeon Cay - 2 Acres w/ Private Beach

10/10 Excellent

"Cat's Cove is incredible. The perfect place to get away--REALLY get away. The beaches are beautiful-can't describe it. Aqua seas at your doorstep with curious, colorful fish just offshore.House is stunning-just as pictured. Two bedroom suites at opposite ends, each with a bath. A third bedroom sits between them--Perfect for kids! The kitchen is fully equipped-even an ice maker (a true luxury on any island)! The beds are comfy and the rooms comfortable with or without the A/C units. The grounds are stunning &fragrant. You'll be visited on the patio/tiki by curious lizards. Be sure to take time to enjoy the cool, shaded Tiki Bar. It's truly a dream. Owner Cat & caretakers Debbie & Tinny were helpful & responsive.Cat Island itself is amazing! No development here-it's pristine & unspoiled. The new airport and roadways seem to indicate it's on the way. The island people are delightful to experience.A few tips: The grocery stores have very limited supplies which can be a challenge. Only liquor stores carry alcohol and there are only a couple on the island.Brief power outages are common.Roads are in poor condition and little signage; improvements are in the works. No see-ums are everywhere so bring serious bug spray--with Deet.Kizzy's, Hidden Treasures & Da Smoke Pot are awesome eateries. (only 3 we tried)Watch for random goats in the roadway, they graze freely here. The healing pond works, if you're adventurous! Use the dock near the Greenwwood Resort."

Hibiscus House Oceanfront Paradise in Fernandez Bay

10/10 Excellent

"The house is fantastic! There is a Nespresso and a drip coffeemaker. There were a few spices and plenty of pans and oven cookware. It is wonderful to be a short walk from the Fernandez Bay resort for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The the washing machine and dryer were handy to have onsite. You can pack light! And ... the house has an RO system for drinking water which is great. We all fell in love with the house. "

White Ocean Coral - Private Beach Villa

10/10 Excellent

"The perfect vacation home depends on what your perfect vacation is. This was MY perfect vacation home. We wanted comfort, and seclusion and we got it! We stayed early November of 2025 and never saw more than two people out walking the beach. There are a couple other homes within view but they were empty. The deck looking out over the ocean was definitely a highlight but the inside was very nice also. The upstairs and downstairs can be rented separately but we rented both just to make sure we were alone. Also there is some snorkeling stuff in the garage (accessed from the upstairs unit and more in a closet in the downstairs unit. A couple things to be aware of. You have to buy drinking water and ice for drinks since the house water is only for bathing. Also the house is quite a drive from almost all stores and restaurants so buy plenty of supplies before going there. Spend time on google earth getting familiar with the island and where some of the stores and food places are. There are two main grocery stores and both are ok but we liked Gilberts better. And while we didnt explore lots of places to eat we loved Hidden Treasures with chef Trevor. It takes quite a while to get your food so i recommend calling your order in an hour early or take your swimsuits and swim in the calm crystal clear water right outside his backdoor while you wait. The property manager lana was great and very responsive to amy questions we had. "
