Our room had a particular closeness to the Main Street and restaurant which made for lot of noise until about 2 am. The parking area was separated from the main hotel door by a drainage area with nowhere to cross except through the mud. The piles of chairs around the foul smelling dumpster in the parking area did not feel welcoming. Room was quite spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Nothing can be done concerning the noise but the parking area would be easy to fix with a bit of attention.

Thank you Adrian. She was wonderful and made my mother’s birthday special. Every interaction we had with the staff was positive. The halyard served a delicious lobster roll in a beautiful setting. We will be back.

We loved our room and the wonderful view. I cannot figure out why people complained about the breakfast. A lot of it was the usual "breakfast included," fare. BUT the yogurt was a name brand, the coffee was fine, no powdered eggs in a steam table--instead, hard boiled eggs, they were great. The bagels were fine (seemed to come from a bakery) and the mini croissants were excellent. Everything was real and for what it was it was perfect. There were take out containers on the breakfast buffet for people to use to take food up to their rooms. A few people actually came down in their robes, which was unappealing. I have never seen that before. We did see that there was a surcharge for parking but $25 a day was unusually steep for outside, self parking. We have been to many other hotels and inns where there is no charge if you are parking the car yourself. Not sure why there was a resort fee--was it because of the pool? That was also annoying because the inn is clearly not a resort of any kind. Ending on a positive note the staff was friendly and accommodating, which we appreciated very much.

While this hotel wasn’t my initial choice, I was instantly drawn in by the nostalgia of its iconic role in Gossip Girl, a show I adored growing up. Stepping inside, I was captivated by the timeless elegance of its architecture and the rich history woven into every detail. The staff provided exceptional service, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, ensuring my stay was both serene and memorable. I would be delighted to make this hotel my home in New York on every future visit.
