Housekeeping either left our room "unlocked" or our room was broken into as when we returned to our room (we had left at 7:30 AM and returned approximately 7PM)
Our door was open... flies filled the room, odor of smoke and our clothes had been gone through with some of my prescription pills taken from their container.
People were "hanging out" near our front door when we arrived... but they suddenly dispersed!
No wonder!!! We discovered Our Door Open !
Fortunately we had the foresight not to leave any valuables or electronics in our room.
We immediately alerted Management, the night manager Nelli (?) who made a record of it and said we would have to meet with General Manager, Ms. Brown, in the morning.
We did that when we checked out and added that the shouting and what sounded like violent arguments/fight awakened us throughout the night. (2-3AM... and again at 5AM).
Ms Brown was professional, she seemed to not only to have been briefed on our situation... but that she may have had this problem before.
If you choose to stay at this Motel 6 (we won't again) be aware that high percentage of the clients are semi-permanently placed there by the City of Norfolk as housing for the homeless.
This Motel 6 is a very poor choice of a place to stay.
While Ms. Brown did immediately offer us a one night refund which we accepted, (we had stayed 2 nights).
The whole experience of staying at this Motel 6 is not worth the insecurity and potential violence even if it was free !
