Stayed here several times, clean rooms, great food and friendly staff. Well placed for visiting Northallerton and the surrounding area. Well worth a visit.

Overnight stay

Excellent room, service and food.
This is a lovely pub, not too loud at all in the room. Room was comfy and so was the bed, had everything in it I needed. Service was excellent. Food in the evening was very nice and would recommend eating here regardless of whether you are staying or not. Breakfast was great (no hot food for me, just cereal and toast). I was travelling on my own for business and felt very safe here.

The pub has a nice cosy feel, the food was very good. We stayed a night, the room was better than I expected, very modern and immaculate. They also looked after something I had left behind and I picked it up a week later. Very handy stop off from the A1. Very near Northallerton and a pleasant area but not much else in the village. Overall very good value and I would stay again.

A lucky find
What a gem of a hotel - lovely staff and rooms. The dinner menu is extensive and includes traditional and the unusual. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was good too. The hotel is a good base for visiting local places of interest - Thirsk, Ripon and Bedale.It is also excellent value. We will definitely be staying again.

Warm welcome from Patrick - showed us to our room - nice room/bathroom clean comfort etc fresh milk instead of UHT which is nice to see Had a lovely evening meal food wonderful - only Negative was portion size on my pudding was tiny for the £6.95 price lemon cake with lemon sorbet but otherwise food was excellent - again friendly and polite service Breakfast was excellent also continental and cooked included . We will definitely stay again - Thank you Patrick for your hospitality and making us feel so welcome

Great stay in lovely village pub.
Lovely large room that was spotless. The king size bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. Breakfast was well cooked with quality ingredients. We had a meal in the pub in the evening which was also good.

Tiny beds
Twin beds were very small, only really suitanle for children. Duet crust on pudding was rock hard & it was not nice- to be fair it was removed from the bill but I'd rather have enjoyed it & paid. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but probably wouldn't stay again.

Great family stay
Our second visit to The Wellington Heifer, and we’re sure to be back. Great service from Rob and all his team. Room 5 is very spacious and the sofa bed is ideal for our son. The food is very good indeed, and the beer is well kept. I appreciated being able to use the EV charger too (at extra cost, but that’s fine). Hope to be back soon.

North Yorkshire gem
This was our second stay at the Wellington Heifer and we had the same pleasant experience as last time. Everything about the stay was perfect; clean, well-appointed rooms, good food and outstanding service. We shall choose it every time we are passing through the area.

Cosy country getaway
Really nice accommodation eith lovely comfy beds. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We ate in the pub both nights we were there and the food was delicious and a lovely selection to chose from. This is a lovely cosy pub ideal for a short break. Would definitely return for another stay.

Very friendly staff, clean and smart room. Pub and restaurant were very nice. Very good food. More vegan options would be good. Wasn’t possible to put a light on by the sofa bed, as all lights were on the main switch. And no reading light. An EV destination charger would be great. Overall very good and would stay again
