Only issue we had was with the noise from the event in the rooftop (we think) one night and the rooftop bar double charging us for our drinks (separate company operates this venue apparently).

Great room & facilities tho shower over bath a little tricky! Coffee bean machine was fab. Loved the rooftop bar, cafe & artworks. VERY convenient for the ferry terminal and airport plus local bars & restaurants & a nice walk to the marina and park. Even tho we arrived for the annual music festival (which was brilliant) the room double glazing & electric blinds ensured we could enjoy a much quieter sleep before an early flight.

The hotel is not bad, but the location is terrible. You are in a poor area of town that is has lots of homeless people, to park you have to drive a ways away and walk back using their gated parking. Had I known what I was getting into I never would have booked it. I was stuck with Expedia paying in advance, the hotel had no desire to refund me my money. My wife and I did not feel good about staying there so we lost our money, and paid for another hotel. The manager was unwilling to give us our money back under any circumstances. Really a bad deal. Tahiti is amazing, Boutique Hotel Kon Tiki is not.

This hotel is very "trendy" with its decor and access to a roof top bar and restaurant on the 7th floor. Your room card must go in a card slot in the room to have electricity. Meaning when you leave the room to go to dinner the AC does not run to keep the room cool. The room was very warm overnight as well. The hotel is located next door to a night club. If that is your scene this is the place for you.

Good stay at a 4* hotel. Lots of good features, large and clean rooms (a few small cabins for a cheaper alternative) with only very minor negatives (eg no bedside lamp for reading in some rooms). Overall a nice place with very friendly and helpful staff.

Extremely loud and unable to sleep. There is a dance club right next door with booming bass all night long, so this hotel is a poor choice if you want to sleep.

Our establishment is in downtown Papeete, and this represents a challenge in terms of peace and quiet (noise pollution), which is why we have just hired a security guard. This will make it easier for our guests to get in and out, reduce noise pollution from the street and improve access to the drop-off zone in front of the hotel. We are aware of the soundproofing problem and are in the process of improving the soundproofing in the street-facing rooms. We're currently working on all rooms facing the sea/street. Extremely late check in (2 am) took longer than normal because only 1 attendant was present. We were 4th in line after arrival of NZ flight. Service we very polite. Breakfast was very good. AC did not work well, so short sleep was uncomfortable. With proper AC this could be a 5-star.

The coffee shop with restored VW microbus was great for breakfast. The restaurant and bar on the top 2 floors were excellent with spectacular ocean views. The staff were soooo accommodating and friendly. Location is superb. My wife and I pushed 2 large suitcases and 2 carry ons from the tour ship dock on sidewalks to the hotel without difficulty and we’re retirees. Great downtown location!

Newly renovated. Rooftop bar, lots of live music choices at night, loud party atmosphere if that's what you like, but rooms are quiet. Pleasant, friendly staff.Convenient across street from ferry terminal...so is a great location for a short stay.

Overall room was nice, clean and neat. Main shortcomings: room was shadowy dark and bathroom was tiny with hinged door that opened against toilet. An envelope door would have made bathroom seem much larger and more user friendly. Staff was helpful and very hospitable. They provided a complimentary shower and dressing area prior to our late night flight.

Room was great, looked newly renovated. The restaurant on the 7th floor and bar on the 8th both had fantastic views. Good food and good service. Bonus!
