Charming waterfront 1920s Craftsman-style home on 4 private acres

Spectacular views on Wequetequock Cove! Minutes from the Barn Island boat launch & trails, ten minutes from Mystic and Westerly, RI, and half an hour from Misquamicut and Watch Hill, RI beaches. Travel by boat to Sandy Point, Napatree, Watch Hill, and beyond! Ten minutes to Stonington Borough, with its shops, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. This quaint home was built in 1924 and has been in our family ever since. Enjoy relaxing views of Little Narragansett Bay from the spacious veranda or walk the over five miles of trails at the nearby Barn Island nature preserve. For the more adventurous, bring your boat or jet ski and launch from the Barn Island boat launch, just .6 miles away. A mooring in the cove is available for boats with up to a three-foot draft. Smaller crafts such as kayaks and dinghies can launch directly from the front yard.

The house is secluded on 4.7 acres, bounded on two sides by state land, the third side by a family lot, and on the last side by the water. Privacy is ensured in this peaceful haven. The Barn Island Wildlife Management Area around the land creates a quiet oasis in a busy area.

Watch ospreys fish while you kayak the shoreline, or head out to explore the sights in Mystic and surrounding areas. After a day at the shops or the beach, come back to a refreshing shower in our rustic outdoor cabana. In the evening, watch the incredible sunsets and enjoy s'mores at the outdoor fire pit. On rainy days, cozy up to the brick fireplace with a good book or a puzzle.

Indoors, enjoy breakfast at the antique kitchen table, or spread out in the spacious dining room furnished with a vintage table that easily seats eight. The living room spans the entire front of the house and has a water view from every window. Comfy couches and chairs beckon you for a chat or a snooze. Upstairs, the bedrooms welcome you with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and modern style. Water views brighten the two front bedrooms, and the back bedrooms look out on the expansive landscape with stately trees and mature plantings. The extra twin bed located in the upstairs hallway can be curtained off for privacy. In Bedroom 4, the second bed is a small cot for a young child. There are also two folding foam beds in the living room, and a pack-and-play is available. The no-frills upstairs bathroom is well-stocked with necessities like soap and towels for your convenience.

The bright vintage kitchen has a full-size fridge and cabinets as well as a full-size electric range. It's stocked with full sets of dishes, pots and pans, and serving and baking dishes. Basic spices and condiments are included. Outdoors, a large gas grill awaits your BBQing pleasure. There is an older washer and dryer in the unfinished basement and a clothesline for wet clothes outside by the cabana.

Our guest book located in the kitchen provides detailed information and instructions on staying in the house, along with maps, addresses, and phone numbers of area attractions.

Lovely rustic property
We had a great time celebrating a bachelor party at this location! The house enjoys a perfect scenic view and is nicely isolated. The wildlife sanctuary nearby is good for hiking and the house has plenty of amenities.

Disappointing and misleading!
What stood out to us most was how dirty the place was when we got there. Lots of dead bugs, some of the utensils had old food in them, and one room didn’t have any of the beds ready. We felt like we were the first guests of the season and it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.

Girls' Weekend
Spacious home for 9 friends to eat, share stories, play games, and laugh! Plenty of space in the living room and dining room table to seat us all comfortably. Bedrooms were cozy and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with everything you could need. The view is beautiful and the charm of the house is unmatched with plenty of period decor and touches. The host responded quickly to questions and was a pleasure to work with.
