The property itself is okay, but I left with very mixed feelings about the staff and the breakfast service.
First, in the pool and restaurant area, there is a manager whose behavior did not feel up to the standards of a North American hotel. For example, each evening at 5 p.m. he would walk in, close all the curtains around the indoor pool (because it is adjacent to the dining area), and do so without any explanation. When we tried reopening them because it was uncomfortable swimming with all curtains closed, he returned immediately, closed them again, and told us rudely “there is a rule at 5 o’clock!” He also walked around the pool area in shoes, which felt very inappropriate for hygiene
Breakfast was another big disappointment. The kitchen was not able to keep up with demand, and every morning there were long delays that left guests frustrated. Staff in the restaurant were kind though.
The property design also has a serious flaw: there is only one elevator in each of the side wings, which creates long waits and a lot of inconvenience, especially during busy times.
Finally, at check-in I requested to upgrade to a better room and even offered to pay more. Instead of trying to help, the receptionist dismissed the request and, at one point, sarcastically said “nice try,” implying I wasn’t being truthful. This felt unprofessional and inappropriate.
Overall, the hotel itself has potential, but I strongly believe the staff would benefit from better training in hospitality!
