Steps to the hotel are well-located opposite the Praiano SITA bus stop; albeit down a “level”, so accessed only by a fair amount of steps down (and ultimately up). Unless your hotel is on the road, mostly all accommodations in praiano are accessed by (many) steps only. Parking is very limited around the hotel, but we were lucky to find a free one at the top of the big hill by the bus stop.
We arrived early, so only checked in late before dinner and immediately went out again. So only on our late return did we notice the many dead ants on the bathroom floor and the few on the bed spread cover & decorative pillows. We informed management immediately but they simply blamed it on the previous occupier for eating in the room. It was late and, on asking for another room, were told the hotel was full. There was no apology, but they begrudgingly came to sweep up the dead ants and change the top sheet. However the mattress sagged in the middle due to the loss of the central support bar, thus it was certainly not the best night of sleep. The hotel appears to be old and has not been maintained well. The crockery at breakfast were chipped & dusty, and mine had a tiny cluster of hair. There was a large breakfast spread in the morning, but based on the quality of the room, the night’s sleep and the dirty crockery, we had a coffee and a pastry, and checked out as quick as we could. Whole-heartedly would advise to not stay more than one night here, and only if no alternatives at all.
