The place itself is really well-maintained, and even if the well-known and popular strand beaches are on the other side of the island, there is a very nice cosy little strand nearby (with excellent Fischbrötchen!). Besides, there are well-maintained bike routes around, so when the weather is not optimal for swimming, you can still take excursions or reach Stralsund in 15 minutes for other programs.
