The Mettā Home: A Nugget of History & Goodwill

Richmond vacation home in Church Hill, walk to Broad Street
****Please know that we are taking every precaution to maintain a clean and healthy stay. Sanitizing door knobs and all surfaces, as always all linens and towels have been washed and sterilized, furniture, mattress, rugs, and floors. ***We have hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towels, and Lysol all apart of the Mett? Stay!*** The Mett? Home: is one of loving-kindness, harmony and sincere wish for the genuine happiness of others who visit our home. It may appear unassuming from the outside but step inside and it’s the perfect juxtaposition of harmony and history. This is an old home located on a quiet block in historic Church Hill. We love our home and hope that you will too! It was built in 1895 for the son of the of Mr and Mrs Hudson, their house is right next door! The flow of the home is wonderful and gets great natural light. The entire house excluding the bathrooms, has original pine hardwood floors. We ask that you remove your shoes when coming in the house to help preserve these floors. on the first floor you have the living room, dining area with bar (wine fridge), half bath: with washer and dryer, and kitchen (gas stove, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave) with our favorite place just off the kitchen, the screened in back porch! We enjoy our morning coffee and watch the birds, so peaceful. In the evenings we sit out there and unwind. On the second floor is the master bedroom: which has a king bed (Tuft and Needle) and a small reading porch off the bedroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed. In between both bedrooms is our den, where you can watch TV: cable, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. The full bathroom is also located on the 2nd floor. We are in walking distance to soooo much! and an easy bike ride, Uber or Lyft to downtown, the Fan, Carytown, and the trendy micro brew haven Scott's Addition. It's perfect if you are looking for a quaint place located in a historic and walkable neighborhood!
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer fireplaces and video-game consoles. Rooms open to balconies. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and separate dining areas.

Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations and hair dryers. Additionally, rooms include coffee/tea makers and irons/ironing boards.

6-Star Stay
I am so happy that I chose this awesome home and location for our 42 hour layover as we drove from FL to RI! Heather’s home is so comfortably and elegantly decorated, but moreover it is perfectly located and equipped with 5 star amenities that even a 5 star hotel would sorely miss. The numerous parks are all within walking distance for you and you road weary pooch who may need some some off leash time too! Restaurants are a plenty and Union Market was my favorite close by stop for avocado toast, picked red onions and cocktail hour groceries. The beds are perfectly comfortable. The back patio is only one of three relaxing spots for tea or cocktails and the kitchen is equipped just like my own. It has everything! Thank you for making your hime, Heather, just as perfect as my own. I could have stayed for month more!

Lovely old home in an amazing neighborhood
We had a fantastic five-day "workcation" with our dogs. Communication and check-in were great, the home was well-provisioned, and it's tough to beat the neighborhood -- Church Hill is really special.

Wonderful stay
Wonderful stay at this charming, beautifully decorated house. It was spotlessly clean, and the owner went above and beyond in making available everything you could need. We would definitely stay again!
