The hostel is clean and practical. It is an excellent resource for walkers and outdoor activities. The rooms are basic but comfortable for a night or two in the Dales.

The amenities at Grinton Lodge are excellent, the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and the surrounding countryside is extremely beautiful. Highly recommended. s

Very friendly staff who kindly got me in last minute due to my booking error. Showers very good and plenty of toilet facilities even though they were not in room .breakfast great value ,plentiful and delicious. Ideal cheap accommodation for a few nights stay in a beautiful location.

Basic accommodation in a beautiful setting
Extremely good value for basic, but comfortable accommodation in a breathtakingly beautiful location. (Don't forget to take your own towels, though)

Good value - but remember it's not a hotel
Glorious location, both for views and as starting point for walks (and drives). The village is easily walkable, but more of a struggle back up the hill! Self-catering kitchen is small.

Great location
It was fine. Very little contact with staff, as I was visiting friends in the area, but check in was friendly. The only downside was that other guests were incredibly inconsiderate during the night - lots of door-banging etc. The view from my bedroom was amazing!

Perfect location Beautiful building We have stayed in many hostels over the years, this one was the best yet Beds very comfortable Breakfast was good and gave as much as you wanted

Self catering Kitchen is rather small for number of guests. Plenty of showers and toilets and all other facilities good. Stayed there on a very busy weekend and had to wait for packed lunch to be made.

Lovely hostel great location.
Great night stay for our family. Location and veiw was fantastic. Room and bathroom was clean. Children really enjoyed the games room and outdoor area with obstacle course and football pitch. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hostel, food was lovely and very good value for money. Staff all friendly and helpful. We will return.

I had a fantastic time escaping my normal life. Grinton is right out in the middle of nowhere, so perfect for walking. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and my room was clean and comfy. There was a large communal area, complete with roaring fire, which was lovely to relax in.
