We stayed for eight nights. The staff is very helpful and polite. The room was clean, the bedding was very comfortable. The only thing that gave an impression other than cleanliness is the hotel carpet, both in the room and the hallway and stairs. It is worn and it has been cleaned many times to remove stains. I would still consider the room clean regardless but it gave a poor impression. Don’t get me wrong, I was very happy with my stay and I would stay again.
Should you book a room here don’t hesitate to include the breakfast. It was very very nice and the staff made it even more enjoyable.

It’s a beautiful building and an exceptional location. But I struggle to see how this can be a 4 star. The carpet on the rooms is very very old and stained, the bed sheets are so short that they keep moving about and you end up sleeping on the raw mattress, and the air dryier is one of those wall mounted ones - which I don’t think I have ever seen in a 4 star. I asked whether I could get a normal plug-to-wall one but I was told no (I’m not the most kind of manners)

We switched from another hotel in Lille because it was 100 degrees outside and this one advertised air conditioning but cost a lot more. When we arrived to a small room with a tiny and dirty bathroom, we turned on the AC. After some time we realized it was not working. Communication as an English speaker was difficult with front desk. They would not move us to a lower floor or another ibis hotel nearby, and simply gave us a fan. Rooms were over 90 degrees so sleep was impossible and a fan did not help. There were no workers trying to fix AC and they refused to give us a partial refund. These were unsafe and unbearable conditions in the tiny rooms. False advertising should not be accepted and customers deserve a refund for having to go through this.

"Really handy for a stop off after the Chunnel and a long drive. Not too far from the main square - 7 mins walk. Parking about £10 under the hotel and breakfast was great and included in the price. Been coming here on and off for 15 years or so. Says it all really 👍"
