Reads at Rosedale beach house

Designed by renowned modernist architect Bert Read, this elegant cedar home is nestled in bushland and a 200 metre flat walk to the beach. The house has an abundance of natural light with walls of glass, timber interior with vaulted ceilings and wrap-around ironbark deck made to soak up the sunshine while looking out over Saltwater Creek right at your back door.

The home features two large bedrooms both with ensuites, plus two more single beds on a mezzanine and access to another separate bathroom, accommodating up to six to sleep comfortably. It has underfloor heating/cooling, ceiling fans and a central brick fireplace. There is a modern, fully equipped kitchen and weber BBQ for entertaining. Full linen service is also provided for your convenience.

Plenty of places to relax - laze in the hammocks on the back deck or in the giant beanbag watching native birdlife, spend time unwinding in the main loungeroom or head up the beautiful timber spiral staircase to chill out on the mezzanine living area.

Rosedale beach is secluded and dog friendly. There are wonderful coastal and bush walks in the area and when you get back from the beach, the house has two hot/cold outdoor showers to wash away sand and saltwater. The NSW South Coast has stunning beaches, delicious fresh seafood, laid-back coastal vibes and world-famous surf breaks - the perfect place to unplug from busy lives and reconnect with nature.

Hidden Treasure
Home away from home. Very nicely furnished and clean place. Beds are very comfortable , bedding is spotless including towels and the rest of the house. I stayed 2 nights with my friends ( all over 60’s) and I wish I could spend more time in this great place.Neighbourhood is beautiful and very short walk to the beach. I could not ask for better place even was raining. Plenty of great games and good books. Kitchen is great too. Amazing architecture design though all the house. Highly recommended . All of us agree on my review ❤️

House & location, truly unique & delightful
We enjoyed breakfast on the deck, visited by the wildlife including a beautiful King Parrot & a very busy echidna. Loved the gentle smell of cedar. Beaches are very close by and we enjoyed exploring the coast. The house had everything we needed & we will definitely try to book again. Thank you Claire & Gary.

The house, facilities, location and tranquility were perfect. Great set up for family (including fur babies) to be together, but also spaces for us to be able to do our own thing as well. Would highly recommend to others.

Tranquility
"Reads" is exactly as depicted. The setting is idyllic: perched next to the river surrounded by gum trees filled birds including bower birds, rosellas and cockatoos. Its proximity to the beach is also very convenient. The house easily accommodated our family - the kids loved the loft! (and the huge bean bag was also a great attraction). The kitchen was compact (well equipped) and between the kitchen and BBQ facilities we were able to cook the meals we prepared (there's no oven, however the kitchen has a convection microwave and the BBQ is covered). The dogs were also very comfortable although they needed to be supervised outside because they could squeeze under the house and escape through under the front steps (having said that, they are Jack Russells). Overall, excellent and we'll definitely come back :-)

Read at Rosedale 2 week holiday.
Despite the cold and stormy weekend on arrival, we enjoyed our stay, the birdlife, Parrots, Pigeons, Ducks, Kormorans and the little Kingfisher, at night the Possum welcomed us! We missed sometimes the proximity of restaurants, shops and streetlights, but therefore the house was well equiped with everything we needed for a very quired and enjoyable holiday. It took us two days to warm up the cold house on arrival, but later on, after we purchased fire wood, the woodfired heater was used for cosy evenings.

Ideal break away... with birds!
My husband and I are teachers and needed a few days of pristine getaway prior to starting another term. At Reads at Rosedale we were able to chill out, read books, walk along the beach and sit out the back on the water and observe an amazing array of native bird life (which we loved!). We were even visited by a cute pair of possums each night. Our little fur-baby Hugo loved it too, particularly lying in the sun, down on the jetty. This stylish beach house has everything you need including a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, a huge beanbag daybed and hammocks (need we say more?). We will be back! Gerard & David Searle

Dog Heaven
Lovely cedar house with outdoor deck overlooking Saltwater Creek. Very tranquil. Cosy fireplace at night. Couldn't have asked for a better location for 2 energetic dogs and their work frazzled owners!. Beautiful beaches in all directions. Rosedale Beach is less than a 5 minute walk and a really picturesque spot. House is very comfortable with everything you require. We had a wonderful time. Owners very prompt with communication.

Rosedale Retreat
This is a well presented timber lined home nestled among the trees. The two bedrooms on the ground floor each have their own bathroom with a third bathroom, also on the ground floor, for those sleeping on the mezzanine level or for guests. We enjoyed the beach at Rosedale which was quiet and we were able to run our dog on the beach before 9am and after 5pm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect getaway
What an awesome find - Reads at Rosedale! (don't tell anyone!) It was a perfect location for a mid week getaway. The house is amazing with all the creature comforts you need (very comfortable beds, everything provided in the kitchen) and the backyard is fabulous for humans and canines alike - relaxing on the dock, birdwatching or barbequing. Rosedale off-leash beach (before 9 and after 5) is a lovely place to get the sand between your toes and for the puppies to get a workout and a swim. Would highly recommend Reads at Rosedale and would love to come back in winter to have a roaring fire and walk the dogs on the beach all rugged up!

This property was so well set up, everything was there for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. A very we’ll equipped house. The hosts are very communicative and the entire process of booking, check in and check out were effortless. The location is fabulous so near the beach and the creek the property backs on to, was so pretty and a hive of activity. The yard was secure and being dog friendly enabled a truely inclusive holiday for us all!

Home away from home
This beautiful cedar house on the river was so comfortable, close to stunning scenery that we felt immediately at home. We took a whole bunch of things that we didn’t need because they were already there, including dog bowls and a deluxe coffee machine. The owners have thought of everything. We love the Read house. Hope to stay again.
