Find hotels in Rum from $67

The best area to stay in Rum is within the main village center, particularly around the church and the general store.

This central area is the heart of Rum, offering convenient access to its limited but essential amenities. The village is small and walkable, with most points of interest located along the main road that passes through. You'll find the local church, the general store, and typically the community hall in this immediate vicinity. This makes it an ideal base for travelers who appreciate being close to the few available services.

For solo travelers or couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying in the village center provides a gentle introduction to rural Swedish life. You'll be able to easily access the local store for groceries and necessities, and the church often serves as a central landmark for local events or simply a peaceful spot for reflection.

The best time to visit Rum is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its warmest and most pleasant for outdoor activities.

During this period, you can expect average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 22°C (64°F to 72°F), with longer daylight hours, sometimes extending past 10 PM. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural landscapes, enjoying lakeside activities, and experiencing local events.

Should you prefer fewer crowds and cooler temperatures, late spring (May) and early autumn (September) also offer a pleasant experience. The landscapes are beautiful with spring blooms or autumn colors, and you can still enjoy many outdoor pursuits without the peak season bustle.
