Hotel Rural Rincón de Doña Inés

10/10 Excellent
"Dona Ines and her son Jesus are warm, welcoming and really good at hospitality. The house is in a tiny town surrounded by beautiful fields and short walk to a cool overlook where I was able to take stunning pictures of the sunset. I arrived after a 33Km walk from Sahagun and was grateful to find such generous people. Dinner was delicious and plentiful and the wine Jesus recommended was excellent. The house was quiet and i had a restful night. Dona Ines prepared breakfast of scrambled eggs and jam. I was ready for my walk. Thank you so much for your generosity!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sahagun?
The best area to stay in Sahagún is directly within the town center, particularly near the main square, Plaza Mayor, and along the Camino de Santiago route that passes through. This central area offers convenient access to Sahagún's historic landmarks, such as the Church of San Tirso and the Sanctuary of the Peregrine Virgin. Hotels and guesthouses here are typically within walking distance of local eateries, shops, and the town's main attractions, making it ideal for those who prefer to explore on foot. For couples seeking a quiet and historically rich experience, staying near the Benedictine Monastery of San Benito is an excellent option. This part of town provides a peaceful setting while still being close to the main amenities, allowing for relaxed strolls through the older parts of Sahagún and easy access to the Camino.Travelers walking the Camino de Santiago will find accommodations directly on or very close to the route particularly convenient. Many establishments cater specifically to pilgrims, offering practical amenities and a friendly setting after a day's walk.
When is the best time to go to Sahagun?

The countryside is also particularly beautiful during spring with wildflowers blooming, and in autumn with the changing foliage. For those interested in local festivities, early July is a good time to visit for the "Fiestas Patronales de San Juan y San Pedro," a traditional celebration with events and activities. However, be aware that July and August can be quite warm, with temperatures often exceeding 85°F (30°C), which might be less comfortable for extended outdoor activities.
