Normandy, traces of D-day (1/16)
6th June 1944: Omaha Beach was one of the two American landing areas in Normandy, roughly 7 km long, between the villages Vierville-sur-Mer and Ste-Honorine-des-Pertes. The 16th Regiment of the 1st US Infantry Division (the ‘Big Red One’) and the 116th Regiment of the 29th US Infantry Division were designated to attack this beach, divided into four major landing areas.
The photo was taken at the location of WN60 (Widerstandsnest 60), the easternmost of the 14 German strongpoints that guarded Omaha Beach in June 1944. Here you have a great view over the whole of Omaha. #Omaha_Beach #D_day_Normandy #BeachTips!

"It was hard to get answers with the third party booking routing all the questions. Once there the owner was very helpful. Three of the rooms were on the third floor with narrow stairs. The Wi-Fi was only available in one room. The large dinning area serve our group's needs. The easy walk to the beach was wonderful and the view at sunset was great. "

"Very clean with large spaces. We loved pulling in and seeing the farm dog sitting near the farmhouse. The hosts met us for check in with two glass bottles of their freshly pressed apple and pear juices! This spot is charming. We wish we could have stayed longer. Full sized kitchen appliances! One note for Americans who have not been to France before…the WC or room with the toilet upstairs does not have a sink in it. The sink is the next door over with the showers. Fairly common. Die Lage ist ideal zum Strand (5 Minuten zu Fuß) und im Herzen der Normandie, so dass man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sehr gut erreichen kann. "Within walking distance to the centre of Bayeux. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very small rooms and a teeny tiny shower room / toilet. We were in a room with 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed and 1single bed, which suited our needs very well. Cheap and cheerful property but needs some renewals (e.g. hallway carpets are stained)."

"This was our favorite hotel during our 8 night trip to Europe. We stayed 2 nights. The staff couldn't have treated us any better. We mentioned a gluten allergy at checkin and they had multiple bread options available at breakfast. They were also helpful when we asked for recommendations. The hotel is well maintained and it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops."
