Good location- close to all the attractions. We were there for 3 days. One day, had a downpour of rain- came back to the hotel soaking wet asked for dry towels, they declined- you only have the same towels ( which were wet from our morning shower)for your stay. Shower was a lot smaller than previous hotels that we stayed at when in Italy. Breakfast and coffee were horrible

I can’t understand how the property even considers selling a room the size I was in under a staircase with a shower which barely trickles.

We loved this property. The room and view are beautiful. There are excellent restaurants and shopping around the corner.

The hotel is in a centrally located area with very close proximity (walking) to major museums and shopping with no need for a car. Room was fairly clean but it seems long overdue for an update. Breakfast fee is €10 per day which is very reasonable with many choices of hot and cold items. The staff are very helpful and friendly and that is a great asset to the hotel.

If you enjoy a more intimate, smaller property, La Gemma is exceptional. Pefectly located near central Florence, yet quiet and very attractive. The rooms and public areas are very well maintained and spotless. I enjoyed the smart decor and tasteful details. The staff including concierge and reception were always on-point and eager to assist. Our room was well appointed with thoughtful amenities. Housekeeping was also very sharp with turndown and upkeep. We did not have time to eat at the restaurant but my restaurant friends in Florence speak very highly of it. As a hotel professional I thought the overall experience was fantastic and I would highly recommend La Gemma.
