“The staff, especially Reception and a young blonde-haired lady who had only been there about 3 weeks were exceptional. Having the bar & the restaurant on the top floor is a bit odd, but it is comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very poor as was the quality of the wine. The gentleman acting as Maitre was brusque, untidy and unwelcoming. We booked our table for 7 and were prompt. But he wanted us to have courses in rapid succession. When we asked for a pause his response was that it was……

“On our return to the hotel this time we were greeted with a warm welcome from Wellington the night receptionist who depite our late arrival was very helpful. Stewart the Manager and the whole team went out of their way to make us feel at home with every need taken care of. We will look forward to our next visit.”

“There is a very good service. Although my original room has no electricity, they let me have a suite room. Their cooked breakfast is very delicious, especially the smoked salmon.”

“The room wasn’t clean, the headboard on the bed was worn and ripped, underneath the bed was filthy and full of hairs, a previous guests glasses were left in the room, a small used soap bar used unhygienic and not enough for 2 guests, other items were also not replenished, despite having a previous stay at this hotel which was good this one did not live up to the previous standard and the member of staff on reception was also quite rude”
