Sea Ranch Lighthouse on the Meadow--10 minute walk to Shell Beach & Monarch Glen

The Sea Ranch Lighthouse is a cozy, warm 2 bedroom/2 bath house that can easily sleep four(4),and by using the loft and its twin size trundle bed, it will accommodate six(6).The trundle bed is made up for a single but by pulling out the trundle it will make up to two twins or a double. Both bedrooms have its own bathroom. The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully equipped to delight the casual or gourmet cook. And when you are done eating, just pop the dishes into the dishwasher and crank up the blender for some margaritas.
Located on the ocean side of California Hwy 1, the house is a quick walk to the ocean, the children's playground and one of the finest tide-pool areas on the Ranch.
The house also has quick access across the common area to the Bluff trail to the Monarch Glen. This is where the Monarch Butterflies stop to rest on their trip southward. There is a Monarch Glen field guide in the house.
You can watch for whales while standing at the large living room window as you get toasty in front of the fireplace or, if you prefer, while you are sitting in the hot tub on the deck. At night you will see a starry heaven that will take your breath away. In the house, on the deck or in the hot tub you will be looking out at a beautiful blue ocean watching the deer, wild turkeys or rabbits running across the meadow.

If you'd rather stay indoors there is a nice window seat that is perfect for that afternoon nap or reading while you listen to music from the Smart TV to find a list of music choices. A flat panel HDTV and free WIFI INTERNET rounds out the entertainment options.

The house comes with passes to all the amenities; some interesting reading material about the whaling ships that used to travel from the Northern Coast to San Francisco and a variety of books on the flora and fauna of the Pacific Coast and binoculars on the shelf in the living room.

Beautiful views from cozy and clean house
Our family had a lovely stay during our annual visit to Sea Ranch. This is in a great location with easy access to beach, trails, Olsen center, playground, etc. House is very comfortable, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the hot tub, BBQ and deck too! Will stay again next year.

Lovely little house in prime location
The Lighthouse is a wonderful home in Sea Ranch with a great location. Over the years, we have stayed in multiple different houses and while the Lighthouse is not the largest or most luxurious, it was the perfect home for our family. Plenty of space with 2 bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms, and a great loft space upstairs which my daughter promptly claimed as her own! The location is unbeatable within walking distance to both Shell Beach and Walk On Beach with some great tide pooling opportunities. We had deer roaming in the meadow out back while we soaked in the hot tub and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would definitely rent again!

Perfect for relaxing
We had a great 3-night visit to the Lighthouse. The house was well equipped and ready for our arrival to just settle in and relax. Easy walk to the beach and wildlife to view right off the back deck including deer, rabbits a racoon and coyote. Thank you to the hosts for a pleasant home away from home.

Sweet Ocean Getaway
This is a great place. The owner and manager of this property are very responsive, helpful, and just overall nice people. The window shade in one room would not go back up and the manager came right out and fixed it. This is a cozy, sweet place, very close to an accessible beach and playground, making it perfect for a small family. The home is small but lots of windows bring in natural light and give it the feeling of openness. My husband and I are used to a king bed so the queen beds feel a bit small but they are comfortable. The living room is very comfy, with seats for everyone. There are no TV's in the bedrooms so parents that want a separate area for kids to watch a movie, it's important to know that. We enjoyed having an accessible and really beautiful beach within a five minute walk. We have stayed at Sea Ranch several times and we've never had an accessible beach so close. We have been close to the water but not a beach that you could get to and enjoy. The house looks out onto a beautiful meadow, which also adds to the feeling of spaciousness. Many Sea Ranch homes are close together and lack privacy but this house does not feel closed in or too close to other houses. The kitchen is well stocked but no condiments and just a few spices, so if you want to cook you may need to bring those items. We left some spray oil for the next guests because that is a must have for cooking. Overall, it's a great deal. Thank you to the owners and manager!!

Great location for a small family
Our family had a lovely time staying at the "Lighthouse on the Meadow". The property was true to the listing - it's a cozy, but ver comfortable house with easy access to the beach, tide pools, hiking and biking trails, and views of a large meadow with a resident herd of deer. After three days, our kids (aged 5 and 7) eagerly volunteered "best vacation ever!"

Perfect Spring Get Away
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lighthouse on the Meadow. From the deck of the house which faces the meadow we enjoyed watching and listening to the wildlife that lives in Sea Ranch. We saw a pair of fox hunting, numerous deer feeding on the Spring grasses and a large flock of turkey foraging. The raptors circled overhead and you could hear smaller birds in the trees. We had a fabulous trip and hope to one day return to the Lighthouse on the Meadow.

So Perfect!
We loved the lay out of the house! It was perfect for the two of us, and next time we hope to bring our friends, they would love it too. The layout for two couples is great! The owners are beyond fabulous! Check in was so easy as was check out! Perfect stay for a stormy weekend as we had plenty of wood to cozy up by! The open lay out also was nice for cooking awesome food in. The large windows were perfect to watch the storm and the birds over the meadow and we saw the big waves crashing too! Fabulous property in a beautiful location
This home is cozy, open, inviting and offers 180 degree views of the beautiful coastal location. A well-appointed retreat, the floor plan is perfectly laid out for safe distancing during this pandemic without feeling at all like anyone is separated. My daughter, son-in-law, my grand-dog and I all enjoyed our time here very much! It was very much a home away from home. Many thanks to Gordon and Judy for their hospitality!

Lovely respite at Sea Ranch
This is our third year in a row renting the Lighthouse rental. We came to celebrate a milestone anniversary and find some refuge from the wildfires. Very clean and perfect location. Gordon was a fantastic host and especially patient with my many questions about protocol during COVID-19. We will be back!

Rented for a getaway weekend for a friend's 50th birthday. Found the house to be the perfect size and comfort level for the four of us. The kitchen was well stocked so we could stay in and cook all of our meals. Beds were comfortable too which is always a plus. Would book this place again.

Refuge during "Shelter in Place"

This was a great location, I highly recommend it. The owners were very communicative and the house was charming. The view from the large windows and deck were lovely - we saw deer in the morning and whales in the afternoon. The house was also well stocked.

Paradise at the Lighthouse
What an amazing stay we had! A lovely Leap Day getaway with my girlfriends was full of tide-pooling, hot-tubbing, cooking and relaxation. The location of the Lighthouse really can't be beat, and the view and hot tub were everything we wanted and more. We hope to be back soon!!

Pure bliss
This vacation was just what we needed. We spent most of our time on the deck gazing either at the wildlife during the day, or the stars at night. When we weren’t at the house we were wading in tide pools, fishing, biking and playing (all within walking distance!). So many memories were made, thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a tranquil, well- stocked homey house.

We had a great stay at this house. All our needs were met. We were lucky to have sunny, clear weather for late January which offered us many miles of walking and star gazing from hot tub. We cooked in the entire stay: the house supplies were well stocked.

Quiet, clean and peaceful
The house was beautiful, clean, easy to find, and in a perfect location for a weekend away in Sea Ranch. Everything was quite simple including check-in, cooking, swinging by the market 5 minutes down the road, and especially the walk down to the beach! We would gladly return. Thank you!
