Without a doubt the most pleasant hotel I've ever stayed at. From the overall space and carefully thought-out aesthetics.... to the beautiful, comfortable (if small) rooms.... to the filtered water both from sink and shower, and in the dining facility.... to the large array of comfortable furniture and large TVs in the sitting areas ("living rooms").... to the deep eco-consciousness that governs every choice, including extremely clean, unprocessed food at the breakfast buffet (and yes, I'm including the bacon and sausages).... to the incredible ease of check-in and check-out.... to, most of all, THE STAFF! Their "ambassadors" are the most easy-going, pleasant, friendly, attentive, and truly effective hotel employees I've ever dealt with: hello to everyone coming in the door, goodbye to everyone heading out.... checking in unobtrusively to make sure everything was satisfactory.... willing nonstop to do whatever it takes to make guests comfortable.... and, again, in an incredibly gentle, informal way. (Translation: if you're into Ritz-level valet fawning, this is NOT your hotel. But you might just be surprised by how effective and lovely Citizen M's ethic of relaxed, friendly attention is.) And of course.... given all these qualities, did I mention they were the most reasonable hotel I could find in DOWNTOWN Seattle? They will now be my go-to whenever I'm on their turf.
