Great hotel close to attractions

Posted Aug 28, 2015
Pros: great location, really comfortable bed, friendly staff
Cons: Room was really small! Access to bed only on one side. Would be great to have wine added to happy hour for those who don't drink beer (horror!)
Location: Pike Place Market, harbor cruises, ferries (ferry to Bainbridge only took half hour, island has great walkable town), shopping, art galleries
I would stay there again in a minute. Room was really small so it was slightly chaotic--not enough counter space, no drawers, etc. Bed was SUPER comfortable, I slept for 10 hours on night 2. staff was fantastic and it was close to everything. I walked to piers, pioneer square, space needle. Another upside--light rail is 2.5 blocks away, city buses were 3-6 blocks away. Restaurant next door is outrageously expensive, but there are other good options in the vicinity.

Would not stay here again.

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: Clean, location is decent.
Cons: Too numerous to list.
Location: Pike's Market, tram to Seattle center.
Unfortunately I had booked two trips to this hotel. The second was worse than the first. Staff was not at all accommodating. I needed to check in early. They told me my room was not clean but saw other guests being given rooms. My room was put on "rush". Other rooms became available before mine in spite of the "rush". Rooms are small, elevator and bathrooms are tiny. My cabin bath on a cruise ship was bigger than this one. I had booked this hotel before a cruise and after so I was stuck going back even though I did not want to. There are better hotels in this area (location is good for downtown) for similar price. On the plus side the place is clean though housekeeping didn't always make the bed very well. Not much in the way of amenities. The free beer at happy hour does not make up for all else that is lacking.

Pros: Location of the hotel is good. Courteous staff.
Cons: Instead of the beer reception, coffee, bagels or doughnuts is more appreciated.
Location: Once you find your way around, there's a lot of things you can do around this hotel.
The location is in the center of downtown close to shopping centers. We are dissapointed on the room we got. It is behind the elevator and the cable is very noisy. My husband complained of not getting sleep due to the noise from the elevator. We wished we should have gotten a better room. Staff are courteous and nice. We did not like the beer reception because we don't drink

Hey there! Thanks so much for staying and for taking the time to share your comments. We loved reading your comment about our team and how nice they were. On the other hand, truly sorry about the lack of sleep. Given our location and age of building we know our rooms can be noisy and are aware that not everyone can sleep through "anything." For these reasons we provide complimentary ear plugs in all rooms. It's the best way we know to aid our guests in getting the rest they deserve. Again, thanks for staying and for letting us know how your experience was. We wish you safe and adventurous travels down the road. Cheers, Kevin Scott General Manager Hotel Max

Perfect home base for a quick weekend

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Jayne was amazing got me checked in early so I could get a nap before a wedding weekend started in full swing. Not a lot of floor space but it was the perfect home base for a busy working weekend, also we loved that ensuing a room cleaning meant we got a 5 dollar mini bar credit since by the last night I was happy to just lay in bed with a beer and fall asleep.

Bellissimo

Hotel bellissimo, posizione perfetta, sia il pike market che il Seattle center sono raggiungibili a piedi. Vicinissimo alla zona dei negozi centrale (fifth). Molto carina l'idea della birra nel pomeriggio nella hall dell'albergo.

cool hotel if you dont mind small

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: location was great, sub pop level is cool. free beer for an hour at night although you'll probably be too busy out n about to take advantage of it.
Cons: larger bathrooms would have been great and it needs soundproofing.
Location: pike place market is fab.emp museum, space needle and the absolutely gorgeous chihuly garden and glass are all next to each other 10 mins from hotel.
checked in and were given a room not on the sub pop floor. i asked if there was any chance of a swap as we were big nirvana/hole/pj fans and we ended up in the courtney love room.no difference once thru the door but its just a cool floor if you are a music fan, very grateful to staff. we had a record player and a couple of albums to play, room was big enough and comfy but not huge compared to other hotels on my trip. main problem was the bathroom,it was tiny. other problem was the non existence of sound proofing in the rooms but thankfully they had left a great pair of earplugs at the side of the bed that drowned the majority of it out.hotel max has an excellent location,10 min walk to pike place market and in the other direction to space needle. very clean and very comfy.

Hey there! Thanks for staying and for taking a moment to hear from huge music fans such as yourself. Loved hearing that we are able to get you a room on the Sub Pop floor and that you were able to experience that trip back in time. Some pretty amazing images captured by Charles Peterson. You're absolutely right about the size. We're small compared to most and tiny compared to the new cookie cutter hotels that are being built. At the end of the day that's what we believe makes the Max special. Again, thanks for staying and we hope to welcome you back soon! Cheers, Kevin Scott General Manager Hotel Max

Warm welcome, clean petite room, great location. Wonderful use of a vintage building!! The restaurant is so nice....mmmmm yeah. Bloody Mary's gone crazy! We will be back. Anyone not into 'just go with it' can find something wrong with anything. Hotel Max has easy class. Thumbs up!

Excellent service, great location

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Hotel Max staff were very helpful and friendly. it was located 5 minutes from Westlake Center and easily walkable to aquarium, space needle, and transport to/from the airport. Approximately 15-20 minutes from main attractions, right by the retail district. Walls were a bit thin, and was awoken by the next door neighbor's kids in the morning. The room was comfortable (king sized bed) and spacious enough for two people. The washroom was a decent size, but we found the sink was quite small. The room was clean and there was also a safe available. If you decline room service the hotel will credit you $5 each day for the honour bar. The free wifi was also a nice bonus.

Overall quite nice, just a few disappointments

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: The hotel staff!!
Cons: Internet service
The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. What wonderful customer service! Only disappointments I had were the room were quite small and tight which made it hard to get comfortable, the bathrooms were big tho! Second was the "free" internet hardly worked so that was really disappointing. That feature had played largely into our decision to stay as it was a work trip, however, I couldn't do any work (not even email!) at the hotel, I had to utilize the Starbucks on the corner.

Hello there and thanks for staying with us! While I'm happy to hear you found the overall experience to meet your expectations I'm sorry we weren't able to hit a home run when it came to our room size and internet. Unfortunately, we cannot do a whole lot about our rooms but please know that we are working with our internet provider to upgrade the bandwidth and signal strength throughout the hotel. Again, thanks for staying and we hope to welcome you back on your next trip to Seattle. Cheers, Kevin Scott General Manager Hotel Max
