For more than a century and a half, Singapore’s Botanic Gardens have led the world in orchid research, while providing an expansive natural landscape in the heart of the city. Today, the gardens are one of only a few green spaces left in the densely populated downtown area, and are frequented by residents and tourists alike for the relaxing escape they provide. Spanning over 183 acres (74 hectares), the Singapore Botanic Gardens provide a great day out for nature lovers and families. Children can enjoy the water play area or discover the process of photosynthesis. Make your way to the National Orchid Garden to find over 1,000 species of orchids. The center is considered one of the world leaders in orchid research and has created more than 2,000 hybrids.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens are located in downtown Singapore and can be reached by car, taxi or public transportation. Visitors arriving by bus can reach the gardens on a number of different routes. Parking is available for a fee or there is public parking on Tyersall Avenue. The Singapore Botanic Gardens are open daily and admission is free. There is a small fee to enter the National Orchid Garden within the grounds.
