Vintage motel with clean quiet room and no bugs

The grounds of the property are beautiful. The rooms are beautiful as well. I was booked in the carriage house, which I found out upon arrival. That was fine except the a/c was almost nonexistent during 95 degree weather. The lighting was very poor in the room also, with only one lamp, nothing else. Upon checkout I mentioned the a/c issue and was told I should have said something and they may have been able to move me. I was all unpacked and settled in for two days, hoping the situation would improve. I was not willing to pack up and be relocated. A discount or return credit would have been a more suitable offer. Would I stay here again? Yes because the price was right and the main house was beautiful. But I would be sure to indicate that I do not want to be in the carriage house.

No bed cover on soiled mattress. Suspected that towels were used. At check in, didn't honor emailed rate on reservation. However, housekeeping staff went above and beyond to fix what they could. Manager adjusted rate at check out. Too many hassles to give a better rating.
