Movenpick Soma Bay is an amazing resort! We started discussing our next visit after the first two days! The staff is friendly and well trained. The property is well maintained and beautiful with an amazing beack and so much to offer any guest!

Movenpick Resort Soma Bay
Our room was cleaned on the daily basis and very comfortable. As we had a video conference to join during our stay and the WiFi signal was not so strong in our room, we requested for a solution from the front desk and they provided with a router in our room that we used until the end of our stay. The WiFi signal is very good at the beach and almost everywhere on the resort premises. No comment on food. So in general, we enjoyed our 10 days stay and we hope to be back in the summer if possible.

Service was excellent at reception and in the restaurant. Didn't like the sales people who seemed to all pounce on us within 30 minutes of arriving at the pool on our first day.

Even better than last year
We came back to the Movenpick after a lovely holiday last year - this time staying for 12 nights and choosing one of the hotels top suites which we had booked 6 months in advance and got this suite all-inclusive for the same price as staying in a normal room at the Sheraton or Kempinski. It was well worth it too. The next 12 days were filled basically relaxing in the hotel's tranquil, and at the start of December very quiet, surroundings - enjoying the gym and spa, playing tennis or swimming/snorkelling in the sea off their newly constructed jetty. We were thoroughly looked after by the staff who are without exception an absolute credit to the hotel. Every single member of their team has a smile on their face and clearly takes pride in the service they give you. Aside from service, the food is very good although some buffet dishes can be a bit bland - but this is always the case when trying to cater for everyone. The ingredients are probably the best available and it tells as the fish is always fresh, the meat is always lean and tasty and the veg too with lots of choice for veggies and vegans. The entertainment is surprisingly good to and the team are really keen to get people involved and always have a smile on their face. Again these guys cannot help enough. All in all the Movenpick is perhaps not the best hotel in the area, it is also a bit isolated BUT it is exceptional value for money with good food and great staff, a safe and lovely beach an ideal spot to relax

Hotel is nice and clean. Deluxe room was great but some of the furniture could use an upgrade. Staff were friendly but not always competent and service wasn’t always timely. Food was good but the coffee at breakfast was disgusting (why don’t they serve movenpick coffee?? It’s good!) We used the dive center which was great.

It's a beautiful resort hotel on the Red Sea. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and the restaurant serves tasty food. The area is far from the nearest town and so not plagued by the early morning call to prayer, but rooms close to the entertainment area will often have to endure load music late into the night.

Nice hotel in a quiet part of Safaga
I only used the hotel as a place to dine and sleep while spending my days working in the desert west of Safaga. I made no use of the beach and other resort facilities and so cannot evaluate these. The parts of the hotel I did frequent (i.e., the room, dining facility, reception lobby and garden) were beautiful, comfortable, and very clean.

The hotel is located in beautiful Soma bay and have the potential to be a very good hotel. The beach is great and it's possible to enjoy scuba diving, horse riding and other nice activities! The hotel also has very nice restaurants, both in the main building and on the beach. With reference to all the great potential described above it's very sad when a hotel chose to serve; wine, beer and spirits of very low quality to all it's full board guests. The wine tasted more like water than wine and the "whisky" tasted like petrol. We tried to buy better wines for our dinner but the hotel was not able to provide. I'm convinced that a big hotel group like Mövenpick could solve this issue and thereby improve the experience for their guests significantly.

Nice hotel, a bit secluded
We had a tremendous time with the family. The hotel has a matchless beach, and decent facilities, however they can add a few activities. The staff was dedicated and hardworking. Having a car helped since hotel is totally on its own. Note: hotel is not inside Soma bay compound, although they share the same bay.

The rooms were nice, but our shower didn't ever drain completely because the floor of the shower sloped away from the drain. We've stayed at 3 other hotels in Soma Bay and all had better beaches than this one. The water was less than half a meter deep and there is no reef, so there's really no swimming or snorkeling. You also cannot take a walk along the beach because the hotel next door has a guard who stands there to make sure no one walks there. The other direction is like the rest of Egypt and strewn with garbage. Also the food wasn't good at all. Everything seemed to be watered down. The "free" internet never worked.

The hotel is close to the beach and offers a club car service/wheelchair service which was extremely helpful in terms of traveling with a senior. The beach staff were very helpful and accommodating. The pool was beautiful and well maintained, as were the grounds in general. The service staff and other staff were very helpful and friendly. There were good vegetarian options and their Lebanese/Oriental restaurant was extremely delicious. The gym although small, was quite well equipped and very clean. There were a few drawbacks. The main one was that the hotel neighboring the Movenpick was extremely loud and rowdy. If you want a relaxing beach stay, this will interrupt your experience. I felt there were also limited dining options and it was difficult to dine outside of the hotel due to lack of connection to the internal soma bay transportation system. The hotel is not central in that way. Also, a core issue is that they did not seem to have seasonal staff present for the high season period of Easter which greatly affected the continuity of their generally good service. I recommend not necessarily going during these kinds of periods unless you are prepared to deal with that.

The hotel location is very good, the beach is nice and well kept the main building is nice, all in all needs a refurbishment in the rooms which are very old, the bed is super uncomfortable. The bar provides good drink, great coffe as well. The main restaurant food presentation is excellent however the quality is not as good as it looks. They mix the soft drinks with water in the machines and tastes horrible, also the coffee maschine gives undrinkable coffee. It’s almost always the same Arabian food ormassieve Arabian influence……. It could be much better….

Personalet var alle svært så imøtekommende og høflige. Rommene fremstod rene og pene, men når en såg i hjørnene så var det oppsamlet støv. Og var uheldig å mistet mobilen mellom madrassene, det var en ubehagelig opplevelse. Mye støv og diverse der. Vask av klær var eksemplarisk, ser bedre ut nå enn som nye. Buffeen hadde alt og litt til, mye søtsaker. Kunne vert mer påpasselig med at folk spritet hendene. Mange som nevler med alle håndtak, kaffetappe etc. Den italienske retauranten hadde en flott meny. Hummer, grillet abbor etc var alt svært godt. 3 dager var nok for oss da basseng ikkje er den store interessa for noen av oss. men for den solglade uten spesielt behov for aktivisering passer dette nok helt supert.

Super duper hotel med okay dykkecenter
Det er et rigtig velholdt hotel og det er et super flinkt personale der er på stedet. Jeg kan varmt anbefale hotellet. Men desværre er der også et lille minus. De har et fint dykkecenter på stedet men måden man skal komme ud til dykkestederne er dårlige. Dykkecentret har en båd liggende ved bådebroen men for at komme med i båden skal du hoppe ca 1,5 m ned og når du kommer tilbage efter 2 dejlige dyk skal du så igen kravle op på broen. Der er ingen stige eller andre hjælpemidler. Så for folk med dårlige knæ mv er det næsten umulig at tage med. Dette er lidt sørgelig da stedet ellers er godt

Hatten eine tolle Suite (105qm) mit großem Balkon/Terrasse und Blick auf das Meer und die Poolanlage. Sehr gute Ausstattung der Zimmer, großes und sehr gut ausgestattetes Badezimmer mit begehbarer "Raindusche" und Jacuzzi-Badewanne. Nur 3 deutsche TV-Programme, die aber bei Bedarf immer auf beiden TV-Geräten tadellos liefen. 3 große Kleiderschränke und sonstige Kommoden mit genug Ablagen. Das Beste an diesem Hotel sind seine Mitarbeiter. Habe so etwas selten erlebt. Vom Director of Operations bis hin zum Roomboy, alle spitzenmäßig. Erwähnen möchte ich hier explizit "Mahmoud", unseren Roomboy, immer zur Stelle, immer freundlich, egal welche Wünsche wir hatten. Wir hatten auf Grund anderer Bewertungen einige Skepsis gegenüber den Restaurants. Völlig unnötig. Das Buffetrestaurant glänzte täglich mit mehreren Fleisch/Fisch oder/und Geflügelfleischmenüs. Natürlich gab es immer auch 2 verschiedene Suppen und eine großes Salat- u. Käsebuffet. Spitzenmäßig jeden Tag aufs Neue, das Dessertbuffet. In einem moslemischen Land gibt es nun mal keine Schweineschnitzel, das weiß ich aber vor Reiseantritt. Schöne große Poolanlage (3Pools), davon einer mit Jacuzzifunktion. Abends immer Programm im Theater oder in der Soma-Bar. Getränke in Ordnung, aber auch nichts außergewöhnliches. Ab 23 Uhr muss man in den Bars für die Getränke bezahlen. Aber 23 Uhr ist dort eh die magische Zeit, wo langsam alles in den Schlaf fällt. Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht, ist hier goldrichtig,

Mövenpick Soma Bay ist ganz weit entfernt vom 5 Sterne Hotel.Hotelanlage und Mitarbeiter positiv. Essenssaal hat Charmeeiner Bahnhofshalle: ständiger Lärm, Unruhe inkl. Beerdigungsmusik. Essen 0weit weg von 5*. Hauptbar : absolut ungemütlich. Getränke ungenießbar, warum serviert das Hotel fast ausnahmslos billigste Qualität? Die Weine= ungenießbar. Lärmbeschallung fast round the clock. Beach Bar: Einweg Plastik Becher 0.2 lt. = 5* ?? Haben im Urlaub Urlaub gebucht und sind für viel Geld in den Magic Life Kalaway umgezogen: ein Paradies. Nie wieder Mövenpick Soma Bay.

Sauberkeit und Service ist mangelhaft
Die Hotelanlage war schön und gepflegt. Das Zimmer hatte nur zwei Betten an Stelle von sechs. Diese wurden dann noch ergänzt. Alles wurde sehr eng. Sie verkauften es uns als Upgrade. Es gäbe keine Kübelsäcke und nur zwei Rollen WC-Papier für sechs Personen, die allesamt irgendwann während der Woche an Durchfall leideten. Das Zimmer wurde mal gemacht, mal nicht und wenn es gemacht wurde, sah es aus, als wäre es ein Kleinkind gewesen. Die Kleenexboxen wurden nicht ergänzt, nachdem sie aufgebraucht waren. Das Schloss der Sitzplatztüre war defekt und den Save war nicht im Schrank befestigt. Man hätte ihn also entwenden können. Die Tisch im Restaurant waren klebrig und das Servicepersonal war mal da mal nicht.

Haben dieses Hotel für 4Nächte gebucht. Das Zimmer (Deluxe/Gartensicht) war in einem guten Zustand und auch wie hier abgebildet. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett und fragten immer nach dem Wohlbefinden. Zu meinen Kritikpunkten: das Essen ist leider nicht vielversprechend. Jeden Tag das gleiche und kaum Abwechslung (all inklusive). Die Cocktails leider auch für die Tonne (vllt normal im Ausland). Die Türen der Zimmer sind sehr dünn, sprich man hört noch nach 30m wenn der Aufzug ankommt und sich öffnet. Dementsprechend konnte man natürlich auch das Reinigungspersonal schon morgens hören etc. Noch ein Punkt: der Strand. Liegen sind mit Verdeckschutz am Strand angelegt (+), allerdings verliefen genau ca 10m entfernt die Abwasserkanäle ins Wasser und es tümmelte sich Müll am Strand. Leider war auch abends das unterhaltungsangebot für die „Katz“. Es lief nicht einmal Musik an 2 der 4 Abende. Da man nirgends in der Nähe was machen kann, lag man schon gegen 22 Uhr im Bett..

Schönes Hotel, sauber und komfortabel
Ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt, wenn man weiss wann es ruhig zu und her geht. Es waren viele Asiaten da und wenn man sie nicht gesehen hat, dann hat man sie gehört, so wie sie gekommen sind waren sie auch wieder weg und es war ruhig. Für Paare sehr angenehm, Sportmöglichkeiten vorhanden, Spa auch, wobei die Verkäufer auch hier etwas aufdringlich sein können, Gott sei Dank gibt es Mittel um sie abzuhalten, wenn man es weis Wie!!!

Eine tolle Anlage, nette Menschen.
Das Mövenpick Soma Bay ist eine wirklich tolle Anlage die mit großer Sorgfalt jeden Tag mit viel Liebe gepflegt und gehegt wird. Wir haben unglaublich nettes Personal angetroffen die einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ablesen und jeden Tag alles geben damit man einen tollen Urlaub verleben kann. Die Deluxe Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, leider ist das Mobiliar schon ein wenig abgewohnt, was der Sache einen schönen Urlaub zu haben aber nicht schadet. Nicht so schön ist, wenn man ein Deluxe Zimmer gebucht hat wird man erstmal in irgendeiner nicht wirklich schönen Bude untergebracht, aus der man sich dann erstmal mit einigem Ärger und ordentlichem Trinkgeld raus diskutieren muss. Das war bei uns, nach Gesprächen mit anderen Gästen auch leider kein Einzelfall sondern schien Programm, überhaupt nicht verständlich das Hotel war zu dieser Zeit nicht ausgebucht. Das Essen war leider nicht was man erwartet wenn man Mövenpick bucht. Hier wird die Anlage der Marke einfach überhaupt nicht gerecht. Gerade in diesem Bereich hatten wir etwas deutlich besseres erwartet. An Tagen wo arabische Gäste in großer Zahl im Hotel sind fällt das Niveau dann auch nochmal deutlich ab, man findet immer etwas aber von guter Küche und leckerem Essen ganz weit entfernt. Unser Fazit, wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub, würden hier aber nicht wieder hinfahren.

un des pires hôtel que j ai fait
Ma femme et moi ont eu mal au ventre tout le séjour à cause d une nourriture destinée à des chats ou des chiens, mes enfants ont mangé des pâtes blanches et du riz tout le séjour même les desserts étaient très mauvais, je n ai jamais vu ça pour un 5 étoiles
