Beware of the restaurant ( which is not owned by the this property ) the young female waitress was exceptionally rude and aggressive toward a single older lady, who complained about not being served. She told her ( in raised voice ) to leave and that she is never to return. She then proudly told us that she could call the police to deal with annoying guests. “Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Australia! Staff are incredible (especially Sarah). Location is stunning - it’s remote but gorgeous. I would -*highly* recommend a couple of nights here on your East Coast travels and certainly better than staying in Mission Beach which is full of construction. Despite being so remote, the prices at the cafe are very reasonable and the food and drinks are great quality. Spacious rooms, lovely communal areas, good bathrooms.
