Owners Sean and Sandra could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble for their guests. The bar restaurant actually was a B&B not just a room and a key. The breakfast was wonderful and was whatever you wanted it to be. Sean was a scream as the barman, all the entertainment you ould want and the TV remote was present and working in the room. Highly recommended.

The Hosts with the most.
From arriving to leaving, nothing was to much trouble for Sion and Sandra. This is not a run of the mill B&B it's a place where you are welcomed with open arms and made to feel part of the community. The locally sourced and home cooked food was an absolute delight and a pleasure to eat. My room was well stocked with a really comfortable bed, that after a longs day ride was more than welcome. Would I recommend the Afon Duad Inn? Hell yes, I'd be mad not to. If I knew all this before I started my tour of Wales this would have been my starting and finishing point. Please don't discount or overlook the Afon Duad Inn, you'll regret it. See you next year Sion and Sandra and thank you; "The Hosts with the most"

A great place to stay and excellent value.
It's an old traditional pub with good clean rooms above at a very decent price, and very friendly owners who make you welcome. I've stayed here a few times and I certainly now prefer it to some of the bigger hotels in Carmarthen. Food is always really nice, great cosy bar / good seperate dining area and always fun chatting with the locals and other guests. It's one of those 'go back to' places for when ever I'm working in the area & need somewhere to stay & I work all over the UK & I know good places from bad. Highly recommended for sure.

Our two night stay was exceptional, the room was excellent and the meals brilliant and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were friendly and always willing to help. A great place to stay.

Great Little Pub
Enjoyed a two night stay for a business trip. This has become my go to accommodation when working in this area of Wales. The owners, Sandra and Sion, are friendly and welcoming, as are the locals and other guests. This gives the pub a warm atmosphere and makes it an enjoyable place to relax in the evenings. The pub has a small beer garden for sanny days and is located in a pretty village, with easy access to the nearby towns. Rooms are clean and cosy. The food is home made, simple and tasty.

Lovely little pub, they worked really hard to make customers feel safe during Covid, also served food to residents in a private dining area. Very welcoming to our dogs who enjoyed their stay.

Groundfloor area lovely! Upstairs bathroom not modern but ok. On arrival killed three spiders to put the girls' mind at rest, then no more problems :-) Well-equipped kitchen + two toilets/showers really important for our group of six. Overall, a big thumbs up! Need own transport.

A superb find - booked as I was working in the local area & it's a great pub with character & friendly owners & locals. Room clean and food v good. Well worth considering if you fancy a break from chain hotels.

Lovely owners, nothing was too much trouble and very helpful. Cooked two meals that weren’t on the menu because I’m vegetarian. Helped with (good) bus service and timetable into Carmarthen. Good value, good experience.

Very thoughtful host: couldn't do enough to make everything work for us, on a wedding weekend. Bijou shower room, but that was fine. Food lovely and very welcoming.

Single night stay on business
I arrived at 10.30pm after dropping passengers off in Wales. Even though the kitchen was normally closed at 9pm, Sandra and Sion cooked me a nice burger which was very welcome. The bed was very comfortable and the room had tea and coffee available. A good choice of breakfast and a great rural location, makes this a great little B & B to stay at.

Lovely Stay with Friendly Hosts
Stayed at the Afon Duad Inn whilst attending a wedding nearby, and felt like part of the family when I was leaving! Sion and Sandra are wonderful hosts, spending the time to find out about their guests and make them feel very welcome. After arriving back at the hotel from the wedding, I was even invited to have a few drinks with them and other guests at the bar, which was great fun and not something I've experienced at any hotel I've visited! The rooms are small but well decorated and have everything you need, including a very comfortable bed, flat screen TV and en-suite bathroom with a good shower. The breakfasts are amazing, huge portions and having your table set up ready for you in the morning is a nice touch. WiFi was much appreciated, as I had little mobile signal in the area. All in all, a lovely stay and I look forward to visiting again!

I received a very warm welcome at this small hotel set deep in the Welsh countryside, yet conveniently placed for the places I wanted to visit. Even before arrival I was telephoned to ask if I would like an evening meal. I slept soundly and was greeted with a delicious breakfast that included home-made items.

Lovely rural B&B with great pub
My one night staying here was a pleasurable experience. The room was certainly adequate, with the breakfast first rate. The owner made you feel very welcome. The pub aspect to the stay was also good with a fine selection of local ales. If you can live without mobile phone signal, this place proves exceptional value for money.
