Overbooked accommodation. Alternatives provided.
Well, I turned up at the hotel shortly before 11pm after an evening flight, and I found that the accommodation was overbooked. This was slightly annoying, but to be fair, I was provided with alternative accommodation. The first night I spent in an apartment with a room with two beds and there was a bathroom. I was just glad to have a room to get some sleep. The following day, I spent time in a different place. This time the room was more spacious and there was a fridge and cooker there. I did not stay at the booked accommodation, but to be fair, I was provided with alternative accommodation at no extra cost to me.

Great location. Poor amenities.
Couldnt find apartment. No name displayed just a number. Poor equipment for self catering but only stayed 1 night. Lots of bars and restaurants. Right on harbour. Perfect for our overnight stay.

Lovely place
Lovely place, great location, had a great time, well looked after. We had a couple of minor issues but they were sorted within minutes. Very quiet place. 2 minutes nearest bar with great views, lots of restaurants within 10 minutes. Gardens lovely and relaxing.

Absolutely perfect location, minutes from the Riva promenade and easy to also get up the hill to viewpoint and to the beaches. Facilities a bit basic but we cannot fault for the price paid and there was lots is space, so better than a small hotel room. Staff Nikola was very helpful arranging transfers - as quiet season we were also able to check in early and out late, which was so appreciated especially with two kids! Overall we had a fantastic little break 👌

Great location on the split riva
The stay was great , I called the owner when arriving and within 5 minutes he had brought the keys . There is also a self check in option available . However that was not made very clear ahead of time .

Well located
Stayed twice, both occasions for two nights at beginning and end of an island cruise. Great location with easy walking access to the city and waterfront. As it is just on the edge of the main areas but near to open spaces and greenery it was a haven of quiet and cool to return to after the bustle of the city. Had an apartment, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & well appointed kitchen which was useful. Owner, Nico very pleasant, considerate and most helpful.

Excellent location, quiet & peaceful yet only 5 mins walk to the old town. Suberb one bedroom cottage, very comfortable with all mod cons yet full of character. Helpful & friendly owner. Would highly recommend.

Off the street sort of secluded. Host offered help with bus schedules and places to see. He brought me wine when I arrived and said how I had wanted to learn about Croatian wine. The are lockers to use so when it’s checkout you don’t have to worry about luggage while spending time in town.

Peaceful and spacious but central
We stayed in the first floor apartment with balcony. It was very comfortable and like a home. The three single beds were very good quality and comfortable with pure cotton sheets and the liebre with large comfy sofas meant we had somewhere to escape each other. Lovely Shower room. Views of rooftops and sea and the garden. The garden was unusual as every ground floor apartment had their own section partitioned off and shaded with a real vine and sometimes meshing. Beach was 15/20 minutes walk away. Go to the gravelly one as the city beach is terribly crowded. The hotel was in a lovely corner of the front with nice bars and restaurants very nearby. Nicolau was very helpful from beginning to end.

GREAT LOCATION BUT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
The Garden Apartment Horptel has a great location close to the main harbour-front and many good restaursnts, bar and tourist shopping. The hotel itself could, with improvements, become an excellent property. Our upstairs apartment was nucely finished and physically very comfortable. What is missing? The owner Nicola seems to try very hard but he needs to give more attention to detail. The small kitchen is poorly equpped for glasses, cutlery and utensils. None of the sinks are fitted with plugs so guests waste a great deal of water. Most of the light bulbs on the property were burned out. The newer flat-screen TV did not work as there was no antenna connection. The outside walkways on property are finished with very course crushed rock. It is impossible to walk in or out without creating a great deal of noise and bothering other guests or nearby residents. During our one week stay, there were two very loud construction projects going on in close proximity. One of these appears to be minor and should not be a long-term problem. The second project is ypthe construction of a modern 4-star hotel which will be located adjacent to the nearby waterfront. This project will be a long-term disruption for all of the businesses and residences located nearby. My wife and I will probably return to Split again but will make some serious inquiries before staying at the Garden Apartment Hotel.

Superb location and very clean
We stayed one night. Had trouble finding the place because google maps has the place on the wrong side of the city. Put the postal address in and we found it. The place was very private as it was accessed via a locked gate. The appartment was very clean and had three spacious room. We were on the first floor and had a small balcony. The best and winning aspect is it is only a few seconds walk from the old town prom and then very close to the old city. My only reservation is the Devore and furniture which is very old fashioned and not in any was cozy. I would stay again

Great staff. Very helpful and accommodating. Carried our luggage, gave us a map of where to eat etc., and just overall friendly. They gave our friend a storage locker (for free) to store his luggage even though he wasn't staying at the hotel. I'd stay here again for sure!

Highly recommend!!!
We are a family of 4 (2 adult children) visiting Split and stayed at Garden Apt Hotel. We had a rental car and had difficulty with locating the hotel as well as parking, however our GPS was not guiding us well. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host who was extremely helpful and friendly (spoke English fluently) and gave us area information as well as restaurant recommendations (you will need to make reservations well ahead of time if you want to eat at a particular restaurant). The apartment was very cozy and clean, and was spacious for our needs with 2 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and a beautiful patio, and a kitchen. It is in the historic section and a perfect location to walk to all historic sites, shops, restaurants, beaches, etc. Unfortunately, a member of our family had a minor medical emergency and we asked the host where we could find a clinic, he immediately walked us to the clinic (which was close to the apartment) and made sure we got our needs met, and also checked in with us later that day to make sure everything was ok. Overall, we were extremely happy with our entire stay in Split and highly recommend Garden Apt Hotel!! It is about a 3.5 hr drive to Plitvice Lakes, which if you have the opportunity, should not be missed!!

Charming!
What a charming little cottage steps from Old Town. We only had one night here, but it was incredibly comfortable sleeping arrangements. Loved the feel of the patio area and stone walls. I'm not sure if we were just incredibly lucky that the property owner was outside when we arrived, but had he not been we would have been at a loss on what to do or where to park. It was unusual that we dropped off our luggage and then the owner hopped in the car with us taking us what felt like far away from where we were staying to park, but as it so happened was just down a few flights of stairs. We weren't sure what was going on we just randomly let this guy hop in the car and give us directions on where to turn. It all worked out but a little more direction on Hotels.com on what to expect upon arrival and parking would have been more comforting.

It looks that the so called front desk is actually located nearby - after 5 min we ringed the bell of the apartment, the staff shows to us and lead us to the apartment. We are very lucky to find a car parking space in front of the apartment.

There are several steps up into the garden. The apartment we had was on the ground floor, very clean and spacious but not sure all apartments are as big. No signage outside but easy to find and in a quiet part of the town. Host was extremely helpful.
