Two design apartments in riverside architect house
Inspired by 1970s American architecture, Mathias and Thomas’s house was built on the high banks of the Eider River. It comprises two apartments, each individually designed and decorated by Mathias. The ground floor is entirely paneled in oak and partially accented with local Jura natural stone. It features an open-concept kitchen with a living and dining area, a bathroom with an elegant bathtub, and a bedroom with a 160 cm x 200 cm double bed. Thanks to the large panoramic windows, every room offers breathtaking views of the river landscape.
On the garden level, the walls are painted in a cozy gray-green to match the hillside setting. Large sliding windows also provide sweeping views of nature in this apartment. The garden level features a 160 cm x 200 cm double bed in the bedroom and a 120 cm x 190 cm sofa bed in the living area. A highlight is the round rosewood dining table with chairs featuring original upholstery from the 1960s.
Both the ground floor and the garden level feature a large terrace, perfect for long summer evenings spent in good company.
In addition to the large garden, the swimming spot just 200 m away is ideal for water activities. Here, you can not only take a dip in the cool water with friends or family, but also enjoy all kinds of water sports such as surfing, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, and water skiing. The expansive beaches of St. Peter Ording are also less than an hour’s drive away and are perfect for extended summer vacation days.
