Staff are not helpful, Key Card did not work on security door going up stares. KeyCard reader was not working at the back door, peepholes were missing on SEVERAL of the rooms at this location. Our room smelled, Beds were dirty, the toilet seat was loose and the peephole was missing. The person who check me in, brought an injured bird in to the hotel and let it try to fly around and kept it in the hotel for at least an hour until i saw him release it in the back. My self and my family WILL NOT BE coming back to this hotel. I will be driving an extra 40 min to Bismarck and stay at a more cleaner, friendlier and maintained hotel.

The initial check-in was 15 minutes!! There was nobody at desk. You pick up phone and it rings and rings! Much later manager appears on phone and continues his conversation about Texas. Eventurall, he checked me in. That was a sign of things to come!! Go to another motel. No, run to another motel.

The property is at the best spot to stay in Steele. You will be walking distance from the only food options in town other than the local vets building- Coffee Cup truck stop, which has a Subway, Pizza Hut, Caribou Coffee and Cinnabon. The rooms were modest but clean, the showers ran hot, and the breakfast and coffee provided were decent. The only MASSIVE issue is the absolutely belligerent front desk host/manager/owner? Don't bother filling out the hotel's prompts for pre check in, which includes giving out your personal info, because he will quite literally yell at you that he does not care what the Cobblestone website/texts/emails say, he will not honor any of it. He says there are many Cobblestones, and this one is his and "online is different". This hotel is run by someone that knows that you have zero other options in the area, so you can't do anything about it except accept your fate. It's a pity, because the rest of the staff seemed incredibly friendly and everyone in town was absolutely lovely.

The host was extremely rude. I prepaid for our room and he still gave up my room and gave me a single instead of a double (I had three people with me). So, we all decided to sleep together in the same bed :)

I rarely leave a negative review. But, as nice as this property looks, the service was ugly. I made my reservation online, the morning of my reservations. I received a text message to go to an additional website and enter all my information again. Basically everything they do when you check in. I noted I was traveling with my small dog, I noted that on my original reservation and on the text message link they sent me. It was noted that the pet deposit was $25 when I went to check in I believe the gentleman had no idea how to use the software they had asked for my name twice, one in my ID again after it had been scanned in one of my credit card again gives me your room key and I look at my go. I am traveling with my small dog. And he goes oh $30 pet deposit I’d like no and I brought up the app that I was sent. I showed him the charge is $25 and he kept he wanted to argue with me that that’s only if you do it online; I told him I did do it online twice. He was rude and argumentative. I believe it’s just him and his wife running the hotel and I would make the assumption they are living there too. When I entered the lobby, there was a phone that said pick up receiver for Assistance. So I did that and I was asked what do it what did I need, I said I was needing to check in. He just hung the phone up; no I will be there in a moment. His accent made it difficult to understand everything he was asking me or telling me. Backyard full of dog poop. He tried to get me to checkout early.
Coffee area was not restocked

There was a lot of confusion at check-in. I had prepaid and he was trying to charge my credit card again. He wasn’t understanding that you can prepay hotels.com. There was an old credit card on file at hotel that he tried to charge. Thankfully it was expired. It overall room was clean and breakfast was okay. Iwe were very annoyed at checkin.
