“Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.”

“Spotlessly clean and so cosy Brilliant stay Lovely pub within walking distance ”

“Nice room and straightforward checking in. Good value if you are on a budget. Small bedroom and bathroom but good well equipped shared kitchen with all facilities including washing machine with line and pegs outside if needed.”

“Check in supposed to be 4pm and still trying to contact landlord at 4.30pm to gain access. Smoke detector off wall and sat on stairs, leaky radiator with a glass under to catch drips, damaged flooring. Dirty throughout. Not good.”

“Lovely village well located. Appreciated the welcome box of goodies. Thank you”

“Easy check in at the bar, our room was small but fine for us, the only thing lacking is a mini fridge. The hosts and locals are great, friendly and down to earth people. The food is excellent and they serve well kept beers at a reasonable price. I would definately reccomend this place and we will stay again. 👍🇬🇧 ”

“The house has everything you could need for your stay. It’s so nicely presented and in a village with 3 pubs/restaurants to choose from. There’s plenty of walks in the area which some fantastic views.”
