"The room was clean and stylish and very comfortable. The bathroom was great. The shower was fantastic! The best waterfall shower ever. The Nuxe products are dreamy and if I had more room to bring things home in my luggage I would have purchased the whole line. The staff was THE most helpful. Stored our luggage for free then insisted on carrying it to our car. Used the valet parking and it was good for the entire day we checked out. The restaurant and service was the best I have ever experienced. If it doesn’t already have a Michelin star it should. Location was amazing. My husband walks with a cane and we were able to walk to cafes and enjoy the neighbourhood with ease. We will definitely be returning to explore what we believe is the most beautiful city in Brittany. As a French Canadian raised in Ontario that is an obvious French as a second language person - Rennes (including the hotel staff) is the only place in the world that either continued to speak with me in French without automatically switching to English. Our waiter asked what language we preferred to speak during our service and said even if you just want to practice your French (but in an affirming way). I am fluent but make some gender mistakes. We have been in France for 2-weeks and Rennes was by far our favourite city. Our favourite town was Honfleur (Normandy) with a similar positive experience. We stayed at L’Absinthe"

"It’s a really nice location, peaceful and green. We enjoyed our stay and use of the amenities. We were surprised when we arrived that the use of the spa was not free, other amenities listed on Expedia often say ‘for a fee’ where there are additional charges to pay, would suggest this as an amendment to the page. The spa (access for one hour) costs 64€ for two people. The amenities in the spa, for one hour only, are not worth the cost in our opinion. Otherwise, breakfast was nice and we enjoyed our stay."

"The only thing I would "warn" anyone about is what I already mentioned about another hotel we stayed in: the very large step one has to take to get out of the shower. I joked that we needed a ladder. I was a little nervous and afraid of slipping so if you have reduced mobility you might have difficulty. Speaking of mobility, while we were there the elevator was out of order. Not an issue for us, but double check if this is important for you (especially if you have heavy bags) Excellent location with a great restaurant terrasse right outside."

"Location is good and there is parking (with a fee) at the hotel. My only complaint is our room kitchen cupboard had a very bad smell of overly cooked vegetables. We had to keep the door closed at all times."
