8/10 Good
"We had a fantastic stay at the Pontchartrain! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and check-in was wonderful. I loved the little welcome touches in the lobby, bottled water, BBQ chips, and fun bottled sodas like grape, red cream, and vanilla cream. The only hiccup was that my ID was accidentally kept at the front desk and I wasn’t contacted to let me know. The hotel has a beautiful historic feel. Our room was CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, with awesome views! Being an older building, there were some gaps around the walls and under the door that allowed quite a bit of hallway noise into the room. The lobby restaurant had a nice ambiance once they turned on our table lamp. The soup of the day wasn’t available because we were told they don’t make it when it’s hot outside, and my wood-fired flatbread was basically dough, marinara, and shredded cheddar. Nothing to write home about, but the drinks were good! Breakfast is $18/person for a buffet, so we skipped it. Overnight valet was $45, and the valet staff were professional and friendly. Overall, we had a fantastic time! A few small things kept it from 5 stars, but I’d happily recommend it and stay again."
