8.6/10 Excellent! (2,341 reviews)
I recently stayed at the Waikīkī Resorts Hotel for a week, and overall it was a mixed experience. The property is definitely dated, the décor and furnishings feel like they belong to another era, but it’s clean, functional, and well maintained.
The best part is the location: just a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach and surrounded by great dining options. If you plan to explore the island, renting a car is a must. The on-site car rental works well for short day trips since you avoid parking fees, while longer rentals are cheaper from the airport.
Service was uneven. The front desk lacked warmth and didn’t feel particularly welcoming. On the other hand, the bellboy, housekeeping, and other staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. They brought much-needed hospitality to the experience.
Amenities are basic. Breakfast is simple, and the on-site restaurant is expensive for what it offers. The pool area is shaded, making it a good spot to relax after the beach, though not a place for long sun sessions.
If you’re looking for a modern hotel with luxury touches, this isn’t it. But if you want a clean, conveniently located base with access to the beach and the island, it does the job well, especially for the price.
