This place is an absolute gem. Right beside the river, with an extensive garden with plenty of seats and tables to soak up the afternoon sun and sunset. Rooms are all upstairs and are beautifully decorated with quality linen and generous continental breakfast provisions (including a gluten-free muesli). Restaurant was also great with extensive lunch and dinner choices. My room was directly above the restaurant area but was extremely quiet. Ulmarra is a gorgeous, historic little town full of craft and bric-a-brac stores plus artists galleries. My fav part was the huge wrap-around balcony, perfect for an afternoon tea (or wine) and a good book.

Loved the hotel. Such a pretty old style pub with a hotel up the top. The room was spacious and old fashioned. Very comfortable. The only negative was that there wasn’t any hot water going for a shower.

Jewel of Ulmara
Love the Ulmara Hotel and love Ulmara! Another great couple of nights soaking up the ambience of this historical Hotel. Always clean and fresh and now with little bar fridges in each room and your stay includes a light breakfast! I missed the old couch that used to be at the end of the verandah but still a nice variety of wicker and wood chairs and tables to choose from for lazy days reading with your feet up. Unfortunately the heat this summer was almost unbearable without air conditioning but thankfully the fans made sleeping possible. Soap dispensers for the bathroom sinks would be a great addition as you have to remember to take your soap with you every time you use the loo!

Charming pub stay. The staff let us check in early which was nice. The food was excellent downstairs at the pub. A lovely beer garden overlooking the Clarence River and the water dragons were very polite.

It’s nice to check In in this hotel to commemorate every details of the place it’s like your living in the 18th century. I like the details of the balcony and the fire place inside our room was amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful the food is yummy.

Lovely Pub!
Yet again, a great place to stay. Comfy bed, clean shower, great food, cold drinks and nice town with a beautiful river. My only criticism is people smoking on the verandah outside of my room late at night and in the morning. That was yuck.
