"Our stay was great. How wonderful to come back to a cool and clean home after a HOT day seeing the ponies swim! The only suggestions we have are add some measuring cups to the kitchen and some towel hooks to the bathrooms. Otherwise we had a wonderful time!"

"We had an amazing time at the purple door! We wrre able to brimg our fur baby which was a HUGE plus. After reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I arrived knowing we made a good choice. Its a very cute little place. There was never a claim to be a luxury, upscale rental. Yes there could be a few updates. The air conditioner worked fine for us in a heatwave. In fact, it was a little chilly. I would go back for the views and location.We loved havimg access to the pools. Met some really nice people. It is accurate that this location is kind of remote. Pack and pick up everything you need on the way in. Didnt mind the 30 min ride to Chincoteague and Asateague to see the ponies. Check in and Checkout was simple and easy. The only caution is if you have mobility issues, there are MANY STAIRS! Nice place to relax. If I ever came back that way I will definitely stay again. Communication with Kelly, the property manager, was so easy. Always available and responded quickly and was always friendly. Lastly, there is a keurig, bring your k cups. Drinking coffee while watching the waves from the deck is the best way to start your day."

"We had such a lovely visit here. The property was clean and super comfortable. It had a perfect beach vibe so I felt like I was on a beach vacation even while working from “home” throughout the week. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The location was a bit of a concern for us. We worried it would be too far from Chincoteague but the 20-30 minute drive never really felt like that big a deal. We went to the beach several times and ate in Chincoteague almost everyday. The neighborhood is fun to explore. Our dog loved going for walks and we liked seeing all the different homes on the waterways. We had a lovely brunch at the clubhouse and enjoyed the pool. It’s a perfect spot if you don’t feel the need to be SUPER close to everything but still want a beautiful, cozy beach house within driving distance of all the tourist spots. "

"The house and development were as described, but cleanliness was a major issue. Floors hadn’t been mopped, with 5–10 large dead bugs in plain sight. The couch was covered in pet hair, crumbs were under the cushions, and the counters had a sticky tan liquid—likely old beer—that appeared to have been sitting for days. Trash cans inside also contained a similar brown liquid.While hosing down the bins, we discovered a large hornet’s nest on the front porch. An adult was stung—thankfully not our two-year-old.We checked in at 4:15 PM on July 3rd and noticed the issues quickly. The property manager offered to send someone, but we assumed they were minor. After unpacking, we realized the problems were more serious. With no one available that evening, we spent the first night cleaning with supplies we purchased.We heard back the morning of July 4th, but no one was sent due to the holiday. On the third day, one of the owners reached out with an accusatory tone, claiming her inspection photos showed no issues and implying we caused the mess. We declined help since we were out and had already cleaned. Despite all this, she refused to refund the cleaning fee—even though we had to pay out of pocket and lost the first night of our stay cleaning. Poor communication and an unnecessarily combative tone from the owner."

"This was the best house for a family with 4 young kids! We could walk to the community pool and woke up every morning with deer grazing alongside the house. I was spotless and filled with the comforts of home. Recently stayed at another home in the same community and it was and is very nice but this place felt like home "

"House was very nice and just as described. Some old but fun games to play in the house. Kids (7 yo and 5 yo) liked the toys and bunkbeds. The pack and play came in very handy for baby. Quiet and cute neighborhood. Good restaurant (Harbors End) with friendly staff within walking distance. Only negative thing to say would be that the beds are a bit hard/very firm. "

"The place was extremely clean and a great place for our family. The downside was that it was completely empty of staples like salt & pepper etc and far away - 20 minute ride to get those things. Some things that they provided- dishwashing pods did not last for 10 people for our stay. I think it would be great if a few staples were provided."

"This house was better than expected. When we arrived the house & property was very clean. And we were welcomed by two deer who hang out at the house everyday. The house is very secure with one door to access the front door & porch which thankfully is screened in. I felt very safe with young children with this set up. The beds are comfortable & very nice showers. The neighborhood is really beautiful and quiet and private with a quick drive to town. We travelled with a 6 year old and a non mobile infant. I wouldn't be comfortable staying here with a toddler because there are lots of beautiful glass decorations but they are so accessible that a kid above 4 can't handle just toddlers would be tough. I would definitely stay here again. The entire house is set up to enjoy the view of the bay and really helps you slow down and be present."

"This property was perfect for our family gathering. The house is beautiful with great views of sunrise and sunset and magnificent stars at night. Kitchen was well appointed. We were also able to take a beautiful walk down to the waters edge every morning and evening. "
