Ich buchte und verstand erst später dass mir ein Hotel in Chan Saen angedreht wurde, das kein Stadtteil von Chiang Rai ist sondern 40km entfernt liegt. Staff don't speak much English, so get a translator app on your phone (e.g. Google Translator with offline Thai language pack) before you travel.
