Waterloo Regional Municipality Vacations & Trips from $724

Super clean, and fantastic location to explore the city on foot. Also easy access to the Streetcars, and grocery stores. Communication could have been better - several messages on platform have gone unanswered - but the staff on site were super helpful. Room (203) was finished to a fairly high standard, although if you are a light sleeper you may benefit from some ear plugs as you face onto fairly busy road, and the dividing wall/ filled door to the next room is pretty thin. Some fantastic eateries around - Mikaku around the corner was a standout (approx 3 min walk), and Bisou French cafe (approx 5 min walk) had some incredible pastries.

The only complain I have is that they are not super strict with their quiet times. At least from what I have noticed. People were laughing and talking on high volumes past 11 pm; I was waking up multiple times through the night from someone's stomping on the floor. But the hostel itself is amazing. Multiple washrooms with showers, you can book private room, shower gel and shampoo provided, along with towels (need to pay for extra). Located in pretty...interesting spot of the city, let's say that. The building is old. But overall my experience was positive. It is the place to come, unload your stuff, eat (what you buy, I suggest frozen meals), and go on your adventures.

Host ignored all calls and texts regarding questions we had during our arrival and our stay. They never followed up at any point during or after our stay. Check-in process was a mess despite them sending instructions ahead of time as it was not made clear where temporary parking was allowed or available while I obtained the room key. The gps map link did not match the separate instructions that were provided. I was not made aware of the extensive check-in procedure which was necessary with building security prior to being able to access the room. The building itself felt like a maze. The images of the building address provided were interior views not exterior which made finding the right location more difficult than it needed to be as we drove in circles looking for what they provided as a guide. The parking garage had poor signage and was difficult to navigate to find the assigned parking spot. The parking spot was tiny and extremely difficult to park in as it was blocked on both sides by concrete pillars. The room itself was just okay. Zero counter space in the bathroom. We ended up being late to our event due to the complicated arrival and check-in.
