We had to cancel our trip due to floods which caused all trains to be cancelled while we were travelling to Wernigerode. We contacted the hotel as soon as it was clear that we would have to turn around but they were unwilling to offer us any form of refund or re-booking, even though the reason for us having to cancel was entirely out of our hands. It’s the middle of winter (therefore the off-peak season) and a sign of good faith from the hotel to us would have been very welcome, even though the policy on their website is clear regarding their unwillingness to offer refunds at short notice.

Der Aufenthalt hat nicht stattgefunden, da meine Tochter 2 Tage zuvor einen Unfall hatte und nicht reisen konnte. Mir war bewusst, dass das Hotel nicht stornierbar war hatte aber auf Kulanz gehofft, dass wir die Übernachtungen eventuell verschieben können. Leider hat Hotels.com nichts erreicht und meine Mail blieb unbeantwortet. Wenn die Inhaber solch einen Service grundsätzlich haben……..

Da ein Biergarten vorhanden ist, ist es Abends sehr laut. Auch werden leere Flaschen um kurz nach 23 Uhr noch laut in die Rahmen gesteckt und anschließend die Kästen über den Boden geschoben. Auch ist das Personal am Check In, Arrogant und nicht besonders freundlich.

Das Hotel liegt in der Fußgängerzone und ist in etwas 5 Minuten vom Bahnhof zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind schmal und länglich was vermutlich an dem Zuschnitt der alten Fachwerkhäuser liegt. Es gibt einen sehr großen Fernseher und einen kostenlosen Save, Hinter dem Hotel ist ein großer Biergarten der zum Beispiel sehr leckere Schnitzel serviert Das Frühstück fand Ich mäßig, es gibt keine frischen sondern aufgebackene Brötchen, relativ bescheidene Auswahl an Früchten. Aber es reicht für einen start in den Tag.
