Student accommodation?Posted Apr 30, 2017
Like most hotels in Leeds City Centre it doesn't have its own car park, therefore you have to park in the nearby Q Park across the road and around the corner. It's about 150 yards away. The hotel has a deal with Q Park to give you a 50% discount on the cost of parking. It's around £11 for an overnight stay with the discount applied. On my arrival I was greeted to find guests on the pavement at the side of the road, a fully evacuated building, numerous fire fighters with breathing apparatus and 3 fire engines with lights flashing. It turns out one of the guests had fully carbonised some food they were microwaving in the kitchen in their room. Therefore not a conventional check in but the staff were great and when the all clear was given by the fire fighters everyone could return to their rooms and I could check in. When I stayed I noticed a lot of the guests appeared to be either students or 18-30 year olds. You can see where I'm going with this! It was like a throwback to my uni hall of residence days. Music blaring out until late, lots of shouting, laughing and swearing, guests running up and down the corridors and jumping around in their rooms. Obviously they were pre drinking before a night out in Leeds! The rooms and corridors have no carpet therefore the noise echoes and travels. Noise didn't stop until 11:30pm when they had all headed out. Then you heard them come back in early hours drunk! I wouldn't therefore recommend to business travellers or non party goers!

A conveniently placed Leeds City hotelPosted Mar 19, 2017
Pros: Location, comfort, value for money, access to reasonable cost parking
Cons: wasn't that keen on the shower. toiletries could be nicer and the front desk area is a little lacking in charm although was perfectly adequate
Location: Close to restaurants; bars; clubs; shops; The Calls area; most sites, opposite Mal Maison hotel for cocktails and ambience
This hotel is well placed for the bars and restaurants of Leeds yet is very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast included in the price comprises fresh fruit; juice; tea or coffee; fresh buttery croissants and other pastries and from recollection there was also yoghurt. The rooms were very well equipped with mini kitchen and fridge so it was easy to have a light meal sitting in the comfortable lounge area in the room and relax. wi fi worked well, Tv was a good size, bed was very comfortable. The shower was made of fibreglass/plastic and moulded as one unit presumably to cut down on cleaning and damage which occurs with tiles etc but this doesn't pretend to be a 5* hotel .Overall a roomy, comfortable excellently located city hotel.Discounted (half price) parking available to guests in a multi storey car park less than 5 minutes walk away. I'd stay again.
