Witch Lake Vacations from $556

Stayed during wildfires and had to leave early bc our activities got canceled by other businesses and room had no AC for filtration. We have two asthmatics. Our trip was ruined. While it wasn’t the hotels fault, they would only approve a first night cancellation and not approve refund for the other unspent night. Our rental car had no issue refunding unspent days. The hotel stole from us a one night stay and kept it. This is not fair. Ethan is the manager Expedia spoke with. Hotel itself had giant puddle out front and an abandoned looking trailer. Abandoned buildings around and ppl smoking all day long out back of shell (even with the wildfires). Kitchen sink had broken tile and sharp edges. Cabinets banged up. Shower head above rusted and didn’t function. Extremely humid and musty but they had a dehumidifier to heat the bathroom up. Couldn’t open windows due to wildfires. Can hear everything going on upstairs which was annoying. Carpet, furniture, bedding, new fans and the place in general was acceptable. Didn’t use any other amenities bc we had to leave. A few things nearby were open but extremely busy due to no real outdoor activities going on.

There was an issue with the tub/shower leaking water into bedroom behind the bathroom. Looks like there is a hole in the tub. This was noticed at 10pm the day of check in. There is no staff on site. Texted the host number and was told someone from maintenence would come the next day. We pretty much said they could come anytime to look at it the next day. Only exception was we were going to be out from 9am to 12 noon. But they could look at it while we were gone. Returned and no one had looked at it and no communication from staff. We needed to be able to use the shower. Decided to pack and leave a day early due to no effort being made to look at it or communicate in a timely manner of repair/solution to problem. Texted the host again and recieved a message simply saying sorry no one communicated, but that someone from maintenence would look at it as they had told me the night before. I told them we had already left. Got a text back that said " We hope you enjoyed your time with us."

I stayed in the disabled assisted room and it met all of my needs, except for no chair for the table, in case you are not confined to a wheelchair. (I used the patio chair.) One enters the room by entering a code sent to you online which was new to me. I appreciated the white noise machine since it did effectively block traffic noise. Nice view of Lake Superior from room despite the being an along the highway location. One of the automatic shades was not operating well, and I did not know who to tell. (I should have left a note for housekeeping.) Overall, happy with my stay.

What a cool place to stay! Everything was great. Check-in was seamless, and the added touches were much appreciated. We walked to dinner (had a great meal at Vierling's), and came back and sat on the roof top with some other guests. I needed a bottle opener, so I texted the host, and he quickly ran one down for me. We'll stay here again when we are in Marquette.

This hotel was in a great location, close to many amenities! Coin operated washer and dryer for guest use was very helpful. Clean, comfortable rooms. A nice breakfast with variety. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
