The carpet from hallway to the inside room is dirty. The room is small. The only upside is the front desk staff, some of them are helpful.

Very clean and spacious rooms, and linen. very good sound insulation so you can be assured of a good nights rest. Location is in the heart of the city with main commercial and financial district within walking distance.

Classy, good value hotel by the metro.
Handy for the Wuhi Square metro interchange (Exit 7), this good value quality hotel is nevertheless hard to find, being on a side street. However, the quality of rooms and the breakfast were hard to beat, so hope to stay rthere again.

Great location near the night market eateries and right off a major subway stop, but the hotel entrance was tucked away on a side street and somewhat difficult to find and there were too many smokers in the lobby and elevators that made the whole place smell like a bar. The room was comfortable with a good firm mattress.

Older Hotel Huge rooms Location a bit out of the way but 10 minutes walk gets you to the Metro but OK. Difficulty with English at most times but managed. Considering the size of the rooms good value for money.

This hotel was excellent generally. It locates right next to the Wuyi Square subway station. And Wuyi Square is one of the CBDs in Changsha (obviously). So you do not have to worry about basic living demands. The only thing I would suggest them to improve is just make the room key and elevator card to be the same card. It could be easier for us customers to use the card if there is only one card.

Very easy to access public transportation, the Metro station is right next to hotel and can enter #1 exit easily. Lots of food and shopping options, within short walk of Walking Street and Wanda Plaza.

Changsha Crowne Plaza
Very nice and new hotel. My room was new, very clean, and very large. A "welcome" plate of fruit and free drink at the bar were included. The location was in the center of the downtown mix with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, as well as easy access to the subway. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of both eastern and western items. I found sufficient staff with good English skills to meet all my needs.

A very nice to stay and right in the city center
This is the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel. I go to visit people I know, and since I do not speak Chinese, it is a very easy place to meet at. It is also surrounded by malls, which proves to be a good place to go when the people I know cannot meet during the day.

It was a great stay. The location is good and easily approach to the malls and street. However, the traffic is congested in the morning and evening. It is more suitable for vacation and for those who are not rush for work during the peak hour.

I arrived around midnight by taxi and was greeted by the bellman who gave me a warm welcome smile as he grabbed my luggage and took it to the lobby. Smiling staff greeted me with quite serviceable English as I checked in. I was in my room in no time. The room key card provides access to floors orce on the elevator. The room was spacious even with a king-sized bed. Maids were flexible with times for cleaning the room and fulfilling request for room supplies. They speak no English, but I got along fine with basic Mandarin and gestures. Nearby is a 5 to 10 minute walk to Wuyi Square, the heart of the entertainment district. But even across from the hotel are places to eat for every budget including a couple of McDonald's. I have stayed in several hotels throughout China. But the Crowne Plaza has the warmest and most helpful staff I've experienced. It is an attractive, clean, hotel with friendly staff and management. I would happily stay there again.

The staff speaks English. The room could have been cleaner. Shower did not drain and it needs a good cleaning. Room was a little small but adequate. The hotel offers free airport shuttle. Was a little difficult to find the pickup location. If you can not find I recommend taking a taxi. The hotel is not very far.

Very good location. Room was pretty comfy except tat aircon sometimes dun work v well n it was a lil dusty. Toiletries were off d shelf kind so didnt realli like it. Hotel is a bit old. Staff was professional n friendly except during chk in d staff was distracted after a phone call. However she made an effort to signal her apology for making us wait.

unfortunately one of us got food poisoning and was forced to be bed bound for 24 hours. that being said, there was no better place to get sick in changsha but crowne plaza. room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. shower had a problem with poor drainage which lead to a bit of flooding.

We had a great experience at this hotel we received a free room upgrade upon checkin because our 2 year old daughter was with us.Well situated in a great spot food and staff were very polite.Amie at the front desk was simply amazing nothing was a problem.I highly recommend this hotel.We will be staying there again in 2 months.

Very nice hotel
Got caught arriving back to hotel late before leaving for the airport. Staff was very helpful, as taxis are hard to book at the time (3pm), organised the hotel coach very quickly as we had a large group. We made it to the airport in time.

It was a pleasant stay. I would come back here again if I'm in Changsha. Convenience to the metro station and walking distance to the entire Wuyi Square makes an ideal location. Though the staff has limited English speaking personnel, a little English goes a long way in China.

Good city centre hotel, great facilities
We stayed here with our older daughter while visiting our younger daughter who was working in the city for a year. We stayed for 4 nights, ate breakfast there every morning and dined there for all but one night as we found the food so good. It's not the cheapest hotel around, but the rooms and facilities are superb and the staff very helpful. As well as good restaurant facilities, the hotel also has an excellent gym and swimming pool. Beware, everyone, no exceptions, has to wear a swimming cap to use the pool - they will happily sell you one! Changsha will never be the most interesting tourist city in China, and like many Chinese cities the pollution levels mean the weather is often murky, but the Yuelu Academy is well worth a visit, and a walk up the nearby "mountain" is pleasant, with the option of a chairlift if you don't fancy walking both ways.

Great location but need better staff training
This was a repeat visit to the Crowne Plaza in Changsha and booked this hotel based on our previous positive experience. Even though we will make future trips to Changsha we will most likely select a different hotel. As we are visiting my wife's family our stays are typically 14 to 21 days which gives us a broader overview of the hotel. The hotel is in a great location and is serviced by the new subway system (2 of 6 lines in operation, with the rest under construction). There is a considerable amount of construction in close proximity but this is nearly everywhere in China at this time. The concierge service was excellent as they were friendly and inviting. We had numerous packages arrive during our stay and they handle them promptly. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the maid service. We often returned to an unserviced room and had to call to have it taken care of. On several days the room appeared to have been serviced but we would find the quality lacking. The supervisor blamed the problem in new personnel and the service did improve after our discussions with the staff. We do appreciate that the front desk was able to change our room to something a bit larger to accommodate the four of us (2 children) but this isn't enough for us to consider them for future trips.
