"Excellent service and very low key. I got up early in the morning and wanted a coffee. I went to the front desk and asked if they had coffee and a man directed me to a coffee making machine that was excellent. I wanted a second cup and needed change the man helped me out. Later I went to the morning service and come to find out the man helping was the reverend of the temple! Super nice! Morning service was excellent!"

"Wakasa Bettei surprised me as one of my favorite hotels in my 8-day Japan trip. I think it came down to the fact that the premises were cozy and new, the location was serene and close to Todaiji, and the staff were just so friendly. Absolutely gorgeous meals for dinner kaiseki and Japanese-style breakfast too. "Total relaxation and we'll needed downtime. The staff at this were wonderful and welcoming. The area was beautiful, the hotel looks out onto sweeping mountain landscape. We enjoyed the indoor onsen and slept soundly in our traditional accommodations. The food was very impressive, so carefully presented and delicious. We ate breakfast and dinner here but also tried some restaurants with walking distance that did not disappoint. A remarkable experience, thank you for your hospitality. "
