Learn more about Yeghegis

Medieval stone churches dot the hillsides of Yeghegis, where you can explore the ancient Jewish cemetery with inscriptions dating back centuries. Hike through nearby valleys to discover hidden monasteries, then sample local wines at family-run vineyards throughout Vayots Dzor Province.

We were on our way to a fortress, or coming back from one, I don't recall. But I do know that we had been walking for hours down an old military road.
Further down a small restaurant in the middle of nowhere was blasting shitty pop music from even shittier speakers. The tranquility was broken. Our guide pointed to the empty restaurant with its flags fluttering in the breeze and simply said: "Marketing".
