“Staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast was delicious and more than we could possibly eat. Beautiful walk into town to check out the harbour and shops. This was a great place for a quick stay before hopping on the ferry the next day!”
“A nice hotel situated off the beaten track but convenient for those driving the NC500. The drive to get to The Drumbeg (I drove from Bettyhill) was incredible- and probably the highlight for me! The hotel was comfortable and had a homely feel to it but other comments of it being quite dated are right.
Delicious home cooked evening meal but incredibly pricey- but seems to be the norm for hotels like these (small menu, well cooked, expensive).

“When they say off grid … I assumed off internet which I was fine with … but this actually meant no electricity /facilities in teepee( small solar panel did not keep main light on for more than an hour). The bathroom/toilet/kitchen setup is not attached to teepee (10-15m away) and whilst it has a roof it is open to elements and as it was raining it was not ideal to get too. To have a shower one must first boil water in kettle (gas cooktop) then add it to shower water to pump it through the……
