"We were very happy with our 2 night stay. Our room was very clean, roomy and the bed was so comfortable. The 'Wreck Shed' was a great recreation space for our small group to enjoy of an evening.
The owner Candice was very friendly and we will definitely stay here again."
"Such a wonderful motel to stay in for a quick trip to Castlemaine! It was so cozy, modern, clean and comfortable, and had all the necessities such as a kettle, hairdryer, soap, etc! Checking in and out was so easy, and the staff were so kind and welcoming to us. Breakfast was kindly handed to us the night before! Would really recommend this motel, it was perfectly in the centre of town "
Muckleford Forest Cottage - Bush retreat, wood fire, pizza oven and stunning dam
10/10 Excellent
"The cottage and surrounds were inviting and peaceful. Bed linen was beautiful, though we did find the mattresses too firm for us. Everything we needed was supplied and the fireplace kept the cottage cosy and warm. We also enjoyed the bookcase filled with an interesting mix of books and games, as well as the hammock and a fire by the dam to take in the beautiful starry sky. Elbert was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"
"The owners were amazing. They let me know I could check in early, they served us at the Brewery next door and they were so lovely. Highly recommend this place. It is also close to the town but far enough you get some peace"
"A gorgeous cottage , with everything we needed for a short stay whilst visiting the area , highly recommended it for anyone who wishes to visit Maldon and surrounding areas , couldn’t have asked for more , hope to return again in the future. "
"Awesome communication by staff and so accomodating to our needs for our vehicle, which was secure. Room was clean and comfortable too. Great shower. Good value too. "
Private Central Castlemaine Studio On Steam Train Line
10/10 Excellent
"The place was perfect and spacious and clean. Super comfortable bed and with the heater on as I arrived, it immediately felt comfortable as a home away from home. "
"I was really disappointed with the bed in this hotel. The mattress was clearly old and worn out—you could feel a noticeable dip in the middle and the springs poking through. It made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality. I wouldn’t stay here again unless they seriously upgrade their bedding.

"A Hidden Gem for Romance & Relaxation – Tuki Retreat
Had an absolutely amazing time at Tuki Retreat. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning panoramic views and the peaceful, natural surroundings. The cosy cabin was a dream — complete with a spa bath and open fireplace, it created the perfect atmosphere to relax and unwind.
The retreat features beautiful lakes where you can catch your own trout — a fun and rewarding experience. The onsite restaurant was a standout, showcasing premium trout and lamb sourced directly from the working farm, along with other high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Every meal was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented.
The service was outstanding — warm, personal, and truly first class. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or simply a place to switch off and recharge, I couldn’t recommend Tuki Retreat more highly. A truly special place that leaves you feeling refreshed and inspired."
"Just returned from a perfect 2-night getaway at this lovely retreat. The wood fire was absolutely divine and created such a cozy atmosphere. The spaces throughout the property were beautifully designed and perfectly suited our needs. We were so comfortable with our sewcation (yes we spend the entire weekend inside sewing) that we didn't even venture out to explore - the property was self catering so we had everything we wanted for a stress free sewing weekend away.Would definitely book again and highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in Daylesford. Thank you for a memorable stay!"
"Everything was great here-one of the nicest caravan park/motel complexes we've stayed in! One minor thing though---PLEASE upgrade your internet ?wifi connection--the speed was so bad we gave up altogether during our stay and waited until we left --i'm sure its in the pipeline though given our impression we formed of the manager and staff--lovely people. Great place to stay in Maryborough!"
"We had the most wonderful stay at Clifftop celebrating our recent engagement. The property was absolutely gorgeous and had immaculate views over the valley and tree tops. The perfect place for a couples relaxation getaway "
