Perfect family surf vacation location
Olavaquero is the perfect place to take your family for a peaceful and relaxing surf vacation. From surfing the long lefts at the river mouth to surfing the punchy & peaky shore break right out front, there are many options for you to choose from and all of it is within walking distance from Olavaquero. In fact, you can check the surf out front while laying in your bed! It's a very nice setup to say the least.
The house is huge, well laid out and the pool is awesome. The crows nest (tower) is also nice for checking the surf. What we enjoyed the the most about the house was eating our meals in the downstairs open area where you could literally watch the surf or check out the sunrises/sunsets while you were eating.
Our caretaker Alejandro was a great host and his cooking skills are absolutely amazing. He can cook anything you desire and I promise you will not want to eat at any of the local restaurants once you try his cooking. Whenever we got tired of surfing, he took us to tunnel beach (amazing) and also the local waterfalls which my wife and daughter really enjoyed. My family and I had a hard time saying good bye to Alejandro. We look forward to the day we come back to visit him and Olavaquero.
The owner James was very responsive and he answered all of the questions I asked him....which was plenty. At first, I was a bit nervous about traveling to the area with my family (wife, 4 year old girl) for safety concerns but James reassured me there would be no issues. He was exactly right! We had no safety concerns at all and the people in the area are some of the friendliest people I have ever met in my many travels.
My family and I truly enjoyed our experience at Olvaquero and we will definitely be going back to visit one day in the hear future. I highly recommend this house for anybody seeking a quiet, relaxing yet fun filled time literally off the beaten path.
