![Beautiful beautiful Peneda de Gerês National Park. There are loads of waterfalls, river gorges and hiking trails along with traditional Portuguese villages. Every hiker and waterfall chaser should make a visit. We stayed in Campo de Gerês and spent a couple of days driving and hiking in the area. It’s been raining every day on this trip but it’s lovely nonetheless.

“Casa da Fonte is nestled in one of the sweetest villages within Gerês. This place was a good value for price. However, we had major issues with check in. We sent inquiries about check in days before and received no response. We didn’t get our check in information until after the check in time, forcing us to sit in a fierce, cold rain storm. The place smelled like cigarettes and the host is not on site/wasn’t responsive. However, we may have been a one off. Everybody has a bad day and we hope……
