Car Rental Cardo

After you've covered all the great sights in Cardo, there's heaps more to see in the surrounding area. Collect the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. These are some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• You'll discover Well of Holy Water Park and many other intriguing sights in Itabira. From Cardo, it's roughly 100 miles away.
• Your next pit stop? Make it Teófilo Otoni, which is around 70 miles away. Tiradentes Square is one local highlight you shouldn't miss.
• Get out into nature and breathe in some fresh air at Morro Beach. You'll find it about 160 miles from Cardo.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Brazil, then you might need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be at least 25 in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before sliding behind the wheel. You typically can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with your rental car.
