Car Rental Changan

Once you've ticked off the interesting places in Changan, there's plenty more to discover in the surrounding area. Collect the keys to a rental car, stow your luggage in the trunk and get out on the open road. We've pulled together some road trips we're confident you'll enjoy:

• Head to Taiyuan for a fantastic sightseeing experience. About 120 miles from Changan, it's home to many cool sights, including Shanxi Museum.

• Summer Palace is about 160 miles from Changan and is one of the region's most gorgeous nature spots. Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in China, then you might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. Please also consider that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll need to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. A few other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before you drive off the lot. You typically can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with a rental vehicle.
