There's lots on offer in Cielo Gardens, but head farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Arrange a set of wheels and you can explore the surrounding area at your leisure. Add these fantastic drives to your list:

• Head to San José for a fun-filled sightseeing experience. Around 40 miles from Cielo Gardens, it has lots of amazing attractions, including National Museum of Costa Rica.
• Next stop? Liberia, which is around 85 miles away. Liberia Parque Central is one local draw card you really shouldn't miss.
• Spend time in nature and breathe in some fresh air at Punta Uva Beach. It's approximately 130 miles from Cielo Gardens.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Costa Rica, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well.
